That's the best we could get? Between the entire MU network and all the basketball players in MKE that's rough

He's 28 and played a lot of professional basketball.  Europe, Central America, Asia...  I wouldn't count out a guy because of where he played in college.

Who is Jarvis Williams replacing?

I thought you were connected when it came to TBT stuff.

That's the claim you've made when it comes Duane's involvement

Yeah, and when you look at the success of Overseas Elite, finding guys who have been consistently playing competitive ball for years might be the recipe for winning this tourney.  I'm not going to second-guess the decisions of Fitzgerald & Co. - they've put together good teams thus far.  And as much as the prize money is the driver, guys like Fitzgerald and Chapman are probably using this experience as a big resume-builder for their non-playing bball careers.  It'd be easier to put together an all-MU squad and call it a day, but actually going out and creating a cohesive team made up of MU and non-MU players is pretty impressive.

Yesterday the Overseas Elite team added forward Sam Young, formerly of Pitt.  Then Tony Taylor, a guard from George Washington.

Then this morning, dropped Sam Young and added three additional frontcourt players.
Drew Gordon-UCLA/New Mexico,
Jonathon Simmons-Houston, 258 games in NBA, last year with Philly and Orlando
Walter Sharpe-Miss State/UAB;  another 6-9 250 guy

Best news for the Golden Eagles team is the side of the bracket they are on. Overseas Elite, Eberlein Drive, Loyalty is Love, and Carmen's Crew are arguably 4 of the 5 strongest teams, but our boys only have to play at most one of them and then in the Final. They could probably still benefit from adding a player or two.

I think the TBT should have a pump fake competition during half-time of the final.  Rowsey vs. Sam.

The seeding in the Memphis regional was all messed up. The lower seed won all but 1 game (the 2 vs. 7 first round matchup). The 8th seeded Jackson, TN Underdogs won their 3 games by an average of 17.7 points. Should we be worried?

That's a weird team. They only have two professional basketball players. The rest are bartenders, truck drivers, and other locals who mostly played for two local rival high schools in Jackson.

I haven't watched this year's TBT yet because I was on vacation and doing other things, but I do expect to watch tomorrow night.

Obviously, I will be rooting for this team.

Still, I can't bring myself to call 'em "we." I have no qualms with those who do say "we," I'm just not feelin' it.

If you don’t work normally, is it really vacation?

Glad to hear your stance on “we”.  I exclude you when I say it, so we’re aligned!

Hope WE do well the rest of the way... will be interesting to see how Joe C plays it. Be smart.

If "we" end up winning the money and I'm $1,000+ richer, I'll definitely be feeling it.

Does the bolded "we" include him, though?

You and other investors are most definitely "allowed" to say we. For that matter, anybody is allowed to say we.

Would it ever become worth it to Wade to play?  Like could he play a game or two and make $200,000 if they win it all?  Even at his worth that’s a decent pay day for a couple games.

He no longer is on in the NBA contract so he doesn't really need to be paid his "worth" to play because of risking injury. I think it's more of a passion thing. If he wanted to play in an MU uniform again he would. But also the tournament would have to be much much bigger by then and have pretty large crowds.

This is all theoretical though and what I'd do in his shoes.

I’m saying would it be worth it for him to play this year?  Like say they make the championship game. Don’t the players each get about $200,000?  He could make $200,000 for playing a single game.

The guy has a sterling reputation. It is not worth 200k to risk that potentially playing bad in a pickup game that is nationally televised.

On the other hand ,  I think the math  and circumstances works well for guys like Buycks, Jamil and Travis.

He is normally vacationing with his family all over Europe this time of year. But this year Gabrielle has been a judge on AGT and Wade was a guest judge. They're having their own kind of fun. Would be easier to get Novak I would think.

That doesn't even pay his maid service.  Why tarnish his reputation by playing?  Jordan hung on too long.

Coaching I can see.

Jordan averaged 20ppg, 6rpg and 4.8apg his last year. I don't think anyone would fault wade for coming in with that stat line when he's meant to be retired.

Agree it wouldn't pay his maid. Figure it'd have to be an emotional thing
