I think people have an over-romanticized version of the gifts Duane brings to the table.

So it's just like his redshirt year, then.

Let me preface by saying sorry if this has been mentioned but I didn't feel like scrolling through 11 pages.  ;D
But what does the black patch with initials 'DG' on their jerseys stand for?
Thanks!

Let me understand this...we beat a team yesterday sponsored by PRN with the sole purpose of targeting Markus, even with their team name?

Dedication!

But he's never on the sidelines...  :P

The Wichita site sold really well because they held it in their full size arena and in addition to WSU fans, they also had teams from Kansas & K-State there. I think most of the sites were smaller arenas (like the Al) and didn't have as many large, local fanbases.

To add to this...

Wichita: $96,396
Syracuse: $30,903
Columbus: $21,025
Richmond: $17,349
Memphis: $6226
Lexington: $5343
Greensboro: $3732
Salt Lake: $3584

I actually thought this and Googled to make sure he's alive. But that's not it.  Anyone else know?

Juan Anderson is the only player listed that didn't play over the weekend.

I liked Duane as a player, thought he was a tough kid and a good teammate who gave everything the coaches asked of him. But he was never more than a role player (and I don't mean that as a big insult -- coaches LOVE players who are willing and able to fill roles, and do so without complaint). I even felt happy for him when he transferred and had some success.

Biggest surprise to me was how poor to mediocre he shot the 3 after shooting something like 50% in high school. Also was a surprisingly bad FT shooter (though I know they don't matta ... except when we needed the points).

He was our second best player on probably the worst team MU's had since Crean's second year. If that doesn't scream star I don't know what does.

1. Duane willingly took a lesser role for the betterment of the team in 2016-17. He started down the stretch toward our tournament run because he was willing to be a glue guy.
2. He was finally healthy for a period during his grad transfer year at TAMU and did very well in a classic point guard role in a team that hovered around the top 10 until he was injured.

3 . He is healthy now and has been working out hard . A healthy Swaggy is a talented Swaggy.

Does he have a job playing hoops overseas this year now that he is healthy?

He was the 8th best player on the team that year. Markus, JaJuan, Rowsey, Fischer, Reinhardt, Hauser, Cheatham. You could even argue Matt Heldt had a better season than him.

He took a glue guy defensive stopper role that does not readily translate into statistics. Bottom line when we got to the most important game of the season he was in the starting lineup .

Also he was not healthy sophomore or junior year.

Exactly. He was a decent option off the bench. That’s pretty much it. Stop making it more than that.
