["One-on-one with Buzz Williams," Jason King, Yahoo! Sports]
Nice lead picture of Buzz on the NCAAB splash screen:

The academic setup here is outstanding. The value of a degree here is approaching that of an Ivy League institution.
I think he meant to say we are approaching that of Madison.
I'm glad they went with the picture of him in the baby blue's.

The more I learn about him, the more respect I have for him as a person, father, and coach.
-
I'm still surprised that he searched the web for "magic pills" and nothing popped up. What search engine was he using, Gopher?
Heck, I get "magic pill" spam almost every day. Maybe I should forward some of my emails to Buzz.
-
He is a unique character.
-
"I’ll be here as long as they’ll have me."
I hope--and think--he means that. No more stepping-stone b.s.
-
I'm glad to hear he's working out and watching what he eats!
-
"I’ll be here as long as they’ll have me."
I hope so.

I love it when he says he will stay at MU as long as we'll have him. Maybe it is coach speak, but I want to believe it. And how would he be able to pray as much with his team at a state school?

Agreed.
It keeps getting better and better.
Really like him.

The man oozes with genuineness. His quirks only amplify that, i think. He is definitely still growing as a coach, but i think we nabbed a great person in buzz, and it'll be fun to watch him and the program grow together.

Hell yes man. That guy is really something else. I don't know if I can sit down and write out my answers to those questions in a more sincere fashion. The guy mentions that Marquette is a good fit for him but I think he is a great fit for Marquette. I am already buying my tickets to the Final Four next year (we just need that JC big, ha).

If it was coach-speak, he wouldn't have prefaced that statement with a paragraph describing how his family "loves" it at MU and why MU is a perfect fit.
Either that, or Buzz is one hell of a method actor.

My man crush on Buzz just grew stronger. I wasn't really around in the Al days, but I've got a book that highlights all of his quotations - I believe called Cracked Sidewalks - obviously Al was a character and one of kind quirky. Buzz certainly qualifies as quirky, maybe a different variety of quirky than Al - but Buzz seems to just have that "it" factor or something special that you can't quite quantify. Just as Al McGuire had.
I don't want to put him in Al's league as I realize Al is a God around MU, but just pointing out the special colorful, and unique character that Buzz Williams is. And it certainly was classy of him to acknowledge Tom Crean in the way that he did in that article. I believe Buzz will turn out to be Tom Crean's biggest gift to the program in the long run.

The thing about Buzz is he speaks his mind whether its good or bad and I like that aspect of him. When he is interviewed he speaks from the heart and doesn't give cliche answers giving us more insight into his opinions on the players and even himself. He doesn't sugar coat things and goes out of his way to relate to his players in battle (running all those miles).
He truely wants to have a relationship with his players and he is attempting to understand their psyche and their hard work by pushing himself as well. This is something that sets Buzz apart in my mind from many other coaches because he tries to relate himself with them.
-
He seems like a wonderful guy and his remarks appear to be very genuine. No doubt about it.
-
.....waiting for the knife......

Buzz is an asset to the university.
-
If he "genuinely" believes our degree is almost at the level of an Ivy League degree, I got a bridge to sell him in Brooklyn. Coach-speak and hyperbole, no doubt.
And don't jump down my throat, because I like Buzz. And we can laugh about making remarks like this. But don't make him into some type of a saint who never exaggerates.
So does this make us the Harvard of the Big East?

Technically he said Marquette was approaching an Ivy League school. As long as your school keeps improving you technically are approaching Ivy League schools.
