Total gossip with no proof to back it up.

Rudy is a douche who drives the ND Athletics Dept. crazy.

Now this is what the internet is for.

I like JCR. Whether playing a porn dude, backstop, or a badass on a wild river he is a great talent.

I think his roles as a comic foil roles to Will Ferrell are a waste of talent.

Ferrell, Chevy Chase, Adam Sandler...grossly overrated hacks.

Agree on Reilly - he was also great as the naive cop with a heart in Magnolia.

Ferrell is really good sketch comedian who struggles trying to carry a movie. Sandler once wrote a funny song about Hanukkah. Chevy Chase hasn't been even slightly funny in decades (maybe ever).

One night after grad school, I was walking into the lobby of my wife's (then girlfriend's) apartment building which was one of those old, fancy Chicago boutique hotels where some floors were leased to residents.  As I walked through the lobby towards the elevator, I did not look, but I overheard a man at the front desk who was checking in making very specific demands (no phone calls before 8:00a, all visitors should be announced, no housekeeping unless requested, etc.).  As usual, I was minding my own business and proceeded straight into the elevator and hit the button for my wife's floor, when another guy (not the guy checking in) jumps into the elevator just before the doors close.  After the doors close, he mentioned something about "did you see who that was?" to which I responded "no."  "It was Will Ferrell's buddy in that car racing movie... I think his name is John C Reilly or something."  I said "huh... that's pretty cool" just as I arrived at my floor.  I told my wife, she thought it was also "pretty cool," and the next afternoon, as we both came in she had to stop at the desk to pick up a package and asked the desk clerk (who she knew quite well) if JCR checked in yesterday.  The clerk said "yes... he stays here all the time, and God, he is such a diva."  My wife said that I had arrived last night when he checked in and the clerk said to me "oh my God, did you see that scarf he was wearing?"  I said no, that I didn't even look.  "Oh. My. God. That thing was so hideously large, it looked like he wrapped a bathrobe around his neck."

So there you go... that's my version of a "Chicos-brush-with-greatness" story, except I only have one to tell, it involves JCR having a persona one would not expect, and if not for someone else, I would have never realized it was him.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

3 years ago my wife dropped her friend off at JFK Airport.  As her friend passed through security my wife spotted JC Reilly and his wife and kids passing through also in front of her friend.  John and his two sons were wearing identical Hawaiian shirts, khaki shorts and Gents Straw Boater hats.

Reilly recently appeared in a weirdly humorous movie called "Entertainment" I had to keep watching it.

I thought JCR was fantastic in "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story".  The guy can really sing.  He was not convincing as a baseball player in that Kevin Costner movie, but he is always good in everything and has as wide an acting range as anyone out there.

Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

I had forgotten about that movie. You're right JCR was fantastic in it.

Yes, he can sing. Anyone see him in the movie version of "Chicago" as Roxie Hart's husband?
Have some patience, FFS.

Always enjoyed JCR in a movie. Sad to hear he is such a Putz. David soul's sons played T-ball with one of mine and walked around like he was some Shakespearian great. I'm thinking, "Dude, you played in 'Starskey & Hutch"  Used to see Huggy Bear at soccer games and he was a real down to earth guy despite his son being a stud athlete.
