Why I'm "ok" with the E8 loss
« on: March 31, 2013, 10:20:07 AM »
Three S16s in a row.  Won the regular season (2nd last year).  Jamil, Vander, Devonte, Otule, Taylor, Dwill, Mayo, Jake and Ferguson returning.  Loaded class coming.

Point is the door closed for MU just for this year.  No one will be surprised if 364 days from today is when we get our next chance to win a E8 game.

We can and should do back again and again in the next few years.

Guys

I love the optimism, but seeing that that SU had only been to three FF in last 36 years puts things
into perspective how tough it is. I believe MIchigan was in first S16 in over decade and a half. I am excited for next season as next guy, just realize it is very, very tough to do that every year.

Is Jake Thomas really going to return with NO scholarship?

He transferred here as a walk-on with no promise of ever getting a scholarship. He got lucky his first two years because we were under 13 scholarships. Why would he leave when not being on scholarship was the plan from the moment he announced his transfer?

Don't settle.

Celebrate the season's accomplishments but NEVER settle.

Goose, I used words like "can" and"should" and not "will".  Yes things can change but until they do, these are accurate descriptions.

I was not bashing your post and agree with you. Jut adding perspective to how hard getting to E8 and further really is. I was shocked that Syracuse had only been to FF three times prior. Your post was a good one and hope we continue on the path we have see recently.

It is tough  but you can also have a great regular season as well.

A great goal for next year would be the following

1.Beat Wisconsin in Madison
2.Win Big East Title
3.Win Big East Tourney
4.Sweet 16 for fourth year.
