Was the Shaka jumping photo from last year? That's a great moment captured

I'm honestly surprised MU let TKO take and use this photo.  As much as "unnatural carnal knowledge Em" was the mantra of last year, I can't imagine the MU bigwigs really want him making a vulgar gesture in official photos.

Vulgar gesture?

That's the 2022-23 Marquette MBB Ring Finger

This photo is exactly my point.  MU never uses this photo in their PUBLISHED material, and when they do it's edited.

I couldn't care less about the finger.  It's funny, it's motivational, whatever.  I'm just surprised MU is ok with it.

They’re ok with it because Tyler is our best player and helps deliver a damn good basketball team to our school.  The best athletes are cut huge slack. That’s just how things work everywhere in sports.

Would think Tyler would know better playing for Jesuits but that’s modern America for you

Well the Jesuits did not get through to some MU alums here on scoop as they are self avowed atheists. So much for a Jesuit education.

Strong disagree.  My religious education was very helpful in my decision to be agnostic

Someone doesn't understand what a Jesuit education is supposed to accomplish.

I have no problem whatsoever with the photo. And I gave up a long time ago giving a chit what the Marquette bigwigs think about anything, much less something as mild as this.

I hope Tyler doesn't have any regrets down the road. Sometimes things that are cool and funny when you're 21 don't stand the test of time too well.

About 30 years Playboy did a series "Girls of the __________Conference". When they got around to Conference USA, of course a photo of an MU coed appeared. It certainly didn't bother me. But I wonder today if she had a do over.........

Don’t believe that’s in the mission statement. Nor is any other allusion to evangelization.

Social justice, equality, development of the whole person.   There is a reason Jesuit institutions are found in inner cities.

Eh, would be easier to support this for someone returning from a Final Four year.

Too easy for critics to say he's showing off how many NCAA tournaments wins he's been part of in his career. Cringy at best.

Ha! Love it Lens.  I hope he backs it up again.  It will be good bulletin board material.  Will be fun watching us be the hunted within the conference.

I saw this as a response to Big East Media Day from a year ago when MU was picked 9th and ignored by the press. Then one reporter felt sorry for them sitting at a table without asking them anything, or even acknowledging their existence. So he walked over and asked, "How do you feel about being picked as 9th?"

We all know TKO's now famous answer, and this photo is his "how do you like me now" response.

By the way, Big East Media Day this year is October 24.

So ... this photo is him reminding everyone that he backed it up last year.

Okay, I'll be the one to tell you.  None of the girls in those pictorials actually attended those schools.
