And Marquette can't hit.  Sluggish start.  DJO missed two open look 3's, they hit theirs.  Out rebounding us on the glass early.  Bench may need to light the fire.  Mayo first one in (outside of Gardner for the injured Otule).

All of the Gardner fans are going to get their wish.   I hope he can play lots of minutes.

WAY too early to proclaim that.  A slow start, but we started slowly in Madison as well.

If it's Flash...can't do it on the iPad or iPhone. (At least as far as I know).

Otule with sprained knee. Out for game. From twitter.

This game is a little too sloppy right now.

Wow, we miss a lot of shots from three feet and closer
« Reply #12 on: December 06, 2011, 09:27:29 PM »
We miss way, way, way too many shots that should be automatic, including layups and fast breaks.

In a one-minute span against Washington, we missed two layups and a fast-break dunk.

Ouch!

That wasn't a flagrant foul.

Sloppy, but we're ahead.  Mayo has tons of potential.

That wasn't a flagrant foul.

Sure was.  Slapped with both hands from behind.  Almost looked like he was trying to push him.  Never made an attempt for the ball, only the person.

I'm happy we are ahead after playing so sloppy.

I think Jamil Wilson is getting better with every game, love his energy tonight. He and Mayo are fantastic off the bench.

Definitely a flagrant imo, really didn't go for the ball at all.  We couldn't finish very well in the first half and Blue needs to stop carrying the ball.  Mayo looked good besides the two missed layups and nice to see Wilson a bit more aggressive in the offense.  Nothing from Jae yet.  I think Buzz will straighten things out for the second half.

DJO maddening and breathtaking in the same half....

the gents look sloppy....too many turnovers and some really quick shots.    Defense started out atrocious and picked it up which, to me, directly translated to taking the lead.

Crowder needs to get it going.   Surprised Anderson did not play more with CO out to give us some height and boards.   Jamil Wilson just keeps getting better and having more impact.   Mayo is such a scoring machine...not sure what happened with the missed dunk except he looked like he was in mid decision on how to do it.

MU should take control in the second half...hopefully....keep playing defense on the perimeter and hit the boards and we should be fine.

Junior not having the bounce back game I expected.

probably not surprising too have a bit of a kohl center hangover.  Let's hope Buzz gives them a b-12 shot at halftime.

The good:  up 3
Mayo, Gardner and J. Wilson picked it up

The bad:   Vander started great, but two missed layups and has 4 TOs already
That Mayo miss was a 4 point turnaround.  Another layup miss 2 points.  Hope it doesn't come down to it.
Where is Jae Crowder the last two games.

To me, Washington played about as well as it could and MU played poorly ... yet still up 3 at halftime.  I expect them to come out strong to start the 2nd half.  We get the ball first.

Crowder lost his "junkyard dog-ness"
Seems to only want to follow the action and hit trailer 3's .
He has come up and hit the glass a few times but he needs to be in the paint using his strength not shying from it.

First Half Thoughts
« Reply #22 on: December 06, 2011, 09:44:21 PM »
Injury to Chris looked bad - hope I'm wrong. Right now Junior can't stay with any of Washington's guards and Vander's a little out of control. Jae's been invisible.

On the plus side, DJO, Mayo, Davante and Jamil all looked solid.

Let's hope for good news on Chris (most important) and for a better overall second half.

How many turnovers does Vander have so far?  I count 4, perhaps 5.
