Bigger than Beating Bucky
« on: December 07, 2017, 08:16:10 PM »
This game is more than just beating that annoying red team we love to hate.

We Really need 2-1 in this three game set but UGA game ugly disaster (maybe strong language but I hated that loss). Now we have to win to stay out from behind the 8-ball.

I look at three things to get in the tourney (ie successful season)
1. Overall record. We need 19-11.  18-12 plus a BET loss doesn’t do it. Even if we win 2 in BET. 13 losses not good.
2. 9-9 minimum in BE, lower than that forget it. If we lose Sat. Then 8-4 OOC and we need 11-7(see point 1). So it just gets tougher.
3. RPI/GoodWins- will take care of itself if we can go 19-11+BET. But will there be enough with 13 losses(18-12 + BET)? I know other teams have gotten in with 13 losses but not us this year.

So let’s win Saturday and finish OOC strong....go 9-3 then 10-8 or Better and go Dancing and see what happens.

I'm with you on the Georgia loss...what a crap fest. I hope it doesn't come to this but i have a feeling at the end of the year, MU is really going to feel the effects of that loss..that was a game they absolutely should have won. Really REALLY REALLY should be/have been a 10-2 non conference. How different would things look then??

To your first point, 18-13 gives us a legit shot provided we are at least 9-9 in conference and don't end the season as a 7 seed losing to a 10. Had we lost to VCU, 18 wouldn't be enough. With that SOS boost, 18 gives us a shot.

I wish we had beaten Georgia, I really do. I think we are the better team, and we were way too loose with the ball and did too many dumb things.

But Georgia is not some crap team from a crap conference. They are 7-1. They beat St. Mary's on a neutral court. They beat us on the road. They have some nice athletes with length.

This is not akin to Buzz's team losing to DePaul in 2010, and not even akin to Wojo losing to Belmont 2 years ago.

I agree that a win at F%ckyland is very important. Then take care of business in the last couple of NC home games, go 9-9 and make the tournament again.

We got this!

18-12 likely does it, tho we’d be in dayton.

10 BE wins does it even w a Loss @ Wisco IMO.

Road is much easier w a win on Saturday however.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.
