Starters' minutes
« on: December 29, 2007, 03:52:14 PM »
Maybe it's just me, but when we're up 35+ points with 6 minutes left, I see no reason to bring our starters (particularily our Big 3) back in.  Why not let Cubillan, Mo & Scot play more or let Brice / RF in?  I'm not saying we're running up the score but we are playing our starters in useless situations.  Executing in the final five minutes against 7-10 Sav State is not really going to make or break our season let alone our game vs Providence.  The game was over; putting The Big 3 is just irresponsible IMHO.

Bring on the Big East.
My handle is Schoolyard but I do my best work at Finley Dunnes...Joe Kenny in '08

I agree there is a chance for injury in this situation, but I was glad to see the starters return.  We had an iffy stint at the end of the game and it was nice to finish strong.  Nice to work on the zone a bit as well.

we also worked on the full court pressure momentarily with the starters in.  I'm sure Crean wanted to give the bench some quality minutes and that's why they played so much in the middle of the second half but bringing the starters in to work on some things is not a bad move.  That's what these games are for.

Work on what, they're basically a division II team...its completely pointless, Crean needs some xanax.

Get hurt?  Come on, we know that only happens during practice.  Could be because there's more competition.

Time to get serious now though.

Practice and game situations are still different.  I'm just saying, how does it hurt to practice something in an actual game instead of just in practice that you may use later in the season?  And how does Xanax have anything to do with it?
