Title: Latavious Williams, 5 star recruit, has MU in final five?
Post by: ChicosBailBonds on May 21, 2008, 12:53:22 AM
No service is saying this (scout, rivals, espn, none of them) but apparently he said this yesterday himself.

If Buzz gets to bat enough we are going the right direction. He has plenty of playing time to offer.

So where do these services have him going?  If it's straight from the horse's mouth that we're in his top five, that's awesome!  It doesn't sound like we have a real shot at him, but like Gymbar said, if our name keeps being mentioned, we'll stay top of mind in the future and Buzz will need to reel in a big one to get the ball rolling.  (Did I pack enough cliches in one post?)

Having MU as final school for 5 star recruits is bonus if we get them or nt. Sooner or later one will come.

Someday, I dream Marquette will field a starting 5 all named Williams, coached by a guy name dwilliams!

Chicos, you're doing some nice work.  I haven't seen these names anywhere else.

If he were to come to MU, where would he play? Remember that Lazar is our "4" for the next two years.

well, he's an 09 recruit cause he's off to prep school.  so him and lazar will only have one year together.  furthermore, once wes, DJ and Jerel are gone, Lazar will finally slide back to his more natural 2/3 position.  He was only a four out of necessity.

Where will he play? In ten months we are short quite a bit of talent. Sign talented players and a coach can figure out to play them. Hopefully we will be playing full court press, up tempo style of offense and we'll need 10 great athletes.

If anyone has more information on him, put it in the wiki,

I am just taking a guess here, but at 6'8" I don't think he is a PG (according to the Wiki).  I would edit myself, but I don't know how!

Fixed... and I finally made my first wiki updates (sniffle).  It wasn't that hard.  Logged in with my Scoop ID and then searched around a bit to make changes.

It takes a village to build a wiki, congrats to Sugar.  Can you imagine a world where his game breakdowns meet the wiki...WOW!

I think moving Lazar to the small forward position or even shooting guard would work, but maybe not with our potential '09 recruits.  After all, he did play SG in high school.  The only problem is that we could possibly have Jamil, Maymon, and Eric Williams playing the same spots.  I don't know how we could find time for all 4 plus Butler.
