Joe Chapman, a Marquette University graduate, signed with the Newcastle Eagles, a British basketball league.

Meanwhile, Blake confirmed that Marquette University graduate Joe Chapman has signed with the Eagles. He will take the two Guard position alongside re-signed Reggie Jackson in a move that spells the end of Trey Moore’s time at the club.

“We’re delighted to have Joe with us,” Blake said.

Here's a question I don't know the answer to:

Who is the last non-walk-on player to NOT play professional basketball after Marquette? 

(Professional = any league, Europe, South America, etc.)

I guess I forgot about going into coaching.  

How about "going in to a non-basketball profession" / using their major after MU..

Pretty sure Sanders played in Europe somewhere before his smoothie stand opened.

Eventually all players stop playing BBall for money, of course.  The question is aimed at guys who did NOT go into BBall as a profession (immediately) after they left MU.

He did play pro ball briefly in the summer after his senior year in one of the European Summer leagues, but then he went back to school.

I think the answer now is the same as it was when this topic came up a few months ago.  David Diggs is the most recent player not to play pro ball after college, though he certainly had the opportunity to do so.

Getting his degree in Computer Enginnering and then going on to get a graduate degree from MU in lieu of playing pro basketball is still pretty impressive for someone that spent so much time with his extracurriculars.  Definitely a driven individual.
