« on: September 07, 2009, 02:45:42 PM »
Since we are moving to Jordan brand, any chance we get a high profile special guest (or two?) at Marquette Madness?

This is all complete speculation btw, but what a recruiting tool that would be.  To be honest, this is the type of thing that Crean was good at pulling off.

If you are suggesting a Wade/Jordan appearance I would guess not. Just because we are Brand Jordan does not mean we are going to start seeing him around.

I am not sure what D-Wade's schedule looks like, but that may be a possibility, who knows.

Sounds like a great idea...but I'm not sure a college audience is what they're aiming for.

I'd expect the two Chi-town boys* to make an appearance at an actual Marquette game.

Heck...the Georgetown-MU game will make the most sense, as they are both Jordan Brand teams.

Too bad, SJU lost the designation.

I know it's just dreaming for the most part, but it would be a really easy thing for those two to hop on a private jet in Chicago, take the 20 minute fly, hang out at the Al for two hours, and then go home.

All Milwaukee and Chicago newspapers would cover it and it would entice the casual fan to check out the MU gear and maybe buy some.  Every casual basketball fan loves our baby blues.

I mean, Dr. J helped mentor MJ, so it's not a huge stretch that he would want to spend a few hours with Dwayne.  I bet deep down all the people suggesting that Kobe could be as good as MJ bothers Michael because he knows that he was better.  Not that he hates Kobe by any means, but I can just see him liking Wade better.  Plus, a better Wade= more profits now.

Wade will be in the middle of the exhibition season on October 16th so I don't look for him in Milwaukee.

He was still recovering from injury when he made the appearence 2 years ago which made it possible for him to make the trip.

I think MJ was just at a North Carolina event - don't see why he would be coming to MU just because of the Jordan Brand thing.  Would be nice if he and Wade would show tho :)

Whatever you guys have been drinking to think that MJ is going to show up at an MU event, I want some right now.  I don't think MJ spends much time in Chicago anymore anyway.  His son is playing for Central Florida this year, he's much more likely to be hanging out down there.

Finally a voice of reason!
Jordan called President Obama to be there in lieu of him.  The only madness at midnight is the person who thinks Michael Jordan will be walking through MU's door.

The only way Jordan shows up at a MU midnight madness event is if we have it on a golf course or a casino

  This post is outrageous, reinko!

I hope we wear the baby blues a lot this year - they flat out look fresh.  Maybe it was something about the Amigos in them that made us play bad every time we wore them last season.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Why exactly is it outrageous, Jay?? Because he is one of the most recognized names associated with Marquette in recent years and there are A LOT of people who still do not realize that Dwyane's name is not spelled the way we normally see it?

I think Jay Bee saying it is outrageous is due to the consistant ridicule and criticism he is taking on other threads for correctly people's spelling. And in my opinion should be used with teal colored glasses.

Wade and Jordan ain't coming. In fact, there's a better chance #3 shows up @ IU.
For all the Crean lovers out there, maybe his ass will make an MU Midnight Madness appearance in full karate gear, riding an ATV with hyperbaric chamber in tow.

Actually, you couldn't be more wrong.

TC has his own midnight madness to do, which inevitably he'll do something wacky and over-the-top (dune buggies? Space shuttle? choreographed dance?)

The next day, somebody on this board will post a link to the video and call Crean a douche and say something about how "Crean shouldn't have to use such tactics because "it's Indiana, Indiana"". The IU fans however, will love the energy of the event.

You will comment on the video with some sort of shot at TC and a veiled reference to Erin Andrew's thong. PRN will come in with something even more bitter.

I will say something about how you guys should get over it, TC is gone (I'll probably type too much).  And then the Lens will say something about how I talk about TC too much and I should get over it.

Then it will degenerate into something about KO and TC. KO was a full time ass, so it's ok, and Crean is fake, so it's not ok... blah blah blah Marquette84.... blah blah blah... Chico's.... blah blah blah... "Chico's is a name dropper".... blah blah blah... Marquette84 types too much.... blah blah blah... Lenny's critiques Marquette84... blah blah blah I type a post that is too long... blah blah blah... Hard's Alumni calls me pompous... blah blah blah... Hayward says something about Buzz ruling the world... blah blah blah...thread ends.

It's out destiny.

We cannot escape it.

All we all that obvious?

Let's face it, yes.

There are a handful of polarizing topics on this board.

- Cubs vs Brewers (contained in the "pissing match")
- Brett Favre/NFC North (mostly contained in the "pissing match")
- Nickname debate (doesn't come up that often anymore, but most people are entrenched in their position)
- Tom Crean (comes up almost daily in several threads... By far the top debate on scoop. Some people appear to hate him, others appear to love him. Topics that are completely unrelated to him turn into TC debates.)

EXAMPLE:

I already know you don't like the TC. But, you still take shots at him. Why? I have no idea. He's not MU's coach.

You know I liked TC (as a coach), but I still feel compelled to respond to your posts. Why? I have no idea.

So yea, we are all that predictable.
