This would be considered a road game rather than neutral for RPI purposes, no?   Similar to our many BET matchups against St. John's.

I sure hope the Jake Thomas 16 footer doesn't become a go to play.

Should be a road game, yes, as it's on CSF's home court.

Also, I think I saw Duane in warmups on the bench.

They boys are looking quite good.

And Duane Wilson is in uniform.

DG - one of the best "old man", "below the rim" games in college basketball. Fundamentally sound.

We're looking so much better this game. Should be able to abuse them down low.

Juan took a confident 3 with Davante in position on the miss.

Jamil making shots

Post by: chapman on November 28, 2013, 03:53:25 PM
He has a role, but I really think the Jake package is better off the bench.  Just need someone to play good enough D to make that possible.

Derrick looking like a totally different player lately.  Looks to score if it's there for him, getting out of the safe zone and in position to make plays, even pushed the tempo which resulted in points we didn't put in play earlier.

Jamil and Gardner playing like we've been hoping for all season. Derrick also building on his ASU performance.

D will looking much much better
Great seeing JJJ getting some playing time
Great seeing Jamil hitting some shots
DG making some great passes out of the post finding the open guy
Lot of positives so far

Duane Wilson is indeed in uniform. Looks like his injury healed much faster than originally thought. I'd be surprised to see him play today though.

JJJ sure looks like he has a really quick first step.
Juan doing work on the boards.
Like the substitution of Mayo coming in for DWil and Jamil running the point.

Ever since that missed free throw we've been in a funk.

Totally inexcusable of Derrick to foul the 3 point shooter at end of shot clock from 24'...second times he's fouled a 3 point shooter in similar situation this season...

Dumb shot by Jake there, not set and way too far from the basket (the one before the 3 he just made)

Did they just say Jamil with a career high 20 points?  That can't be right.

I had Jamil for leading scorer in the prediction contest. I did not, however, have him for the 40 points he's on pace for.

Jamil just killin!!

He should always be this aggressive. If he misses shots that's fine. I like my chances with aggressive Jamil

Role with Todd and  JuJuan

Let Jake get little spurts.

Title: Re: Cal State Fullerton Game Thread

Agree with you HH32. I'd have no problem if Jake played 5 minutes a game and took 5 3's during those minutes, as long as they were good shots.

Hell he could even get a little more. Bring him in as a change up. The other two are just far more explosive and JJJ especially has potential to be a star if we develop him early.

Let this year be the learning curve rather than next year

Bingo.....Jake is a role player....period.  Given his historical 3pt shooting percentage at MU, which is a relevant sample size - I just don't see 1 thing Jake potentially does better than Todd.  Jake's a disaster off the dribble - almost never a good outcome when he puts the ball on the floor.  Guarantee you 100% of opposing coaches would much rather see Jake on the floor than Todd Mayo or JJJ..

Almost have dream lineup on the floor:

Dawson
Mayo
JJJ
Gardner

Would prefer Jamil in place of Steve T...otherwise the above is a lineup I hope Buzz gives 5 minutes of solid run together to see the results..

Two first half turnovers is again awesome.  The Jay's were on fire.  Jamil and Sheesh almost got a point a minute.
