Four BE teams, Northwestern at 20! And I do not get Texas at 24 after the dumpster fire season that just had.
Additional thoughts?

SUPERBAR

SUPERBAR
Disagree ... Superbar is not top 25 material this coming season

I think we are underrated
We shall see

He underrates Villanova. And Texas has a killer recruiting class coming in.
-
I am amused by the presence of this thread so close to the thread about last year's predictions and how accurate they were.
-
I think we are underrated
We shall see
Lots of newcomers. Young. I would temper expectations.
-
I think we are underrated
We shall see
No one is ever going to rate highly a team with so many good but not elite newcomers. We are all enthused about Theo, Harry, Elliot, Cain, Ike, but none are top 50.
-
I think there is way too much trust being put in highly ranked recruiting classes in this one. I would bump Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Texas, and Mizzou down significantly. I also think they are sleeping on Purdue, TCU, Virginia, Baylor, and Providence.
-
Northwestern returns everybody except Lumpkin (not a huge loss to be honest) and gets Falzon back from injury this year. Not surprising where they are.
-
Guys, it's Myron Medcalf. If we made the top 300, it'd be an upset.
-
Myron bein' Myron, ai na?

And it wouldn't be Scoop if there wasn't outrage about Marquette's preseason rankings.

Bump down some of them if you want, TAMU, but certainly not Texas.
I mean, it is absolutely impossible that the best coach in college basketball history could ever go, say, 11-22 after being ranked in the preseason.

It is an off season (and in season) tradition.

Probably not going to hear from TAMU today. I think his schedule is pretty full.

Haha. It was definitely a busy day but a successful one. Mrs. TAMU and I are in the Miami Airport now, waiting for our plane to Punta Cana. Gonna have some of that mamajuana that Newsie and RC are always going on about.

Take it easy on the mamajuana and have fun lots of fun down here in the Caribbean.
-
Have fun TAMU, but not too much fund.
Remember, you work in Texas. Consuming mamajuana is a capital offense!

Just came back from there a month ago. The Mamjuana is a thing to be sure.
Enjoy!

Congrats, TAMU.
And I sincerely hope you're doing something besides reading this!

Congratulations and best of luck, TAMU!

I am glad I finally googled what mamajuana was. I thought it was a strain of weed.

Eh ... it's just good, clean fun.
I'm predicting Texas will win TWO national championships this year. That's how good Shaka'll coach 'em up!

How about it's one of your go to passive aggressive lame joke themes?

Mamajuana just really isn't good. :o
That is affirmative, I insisted my group do a shot of it on day one in Punta Cana based on all the love expressed here.....(https://cdn.meme.am/instances/63036668.jpg)
Lesson as always, never trust anything on Scoop unless Heisey has expressed the opposite opinion
-
Mamajuana is a concoction of native roots, rum, red wine and honey.
It's somewhat analogous to tequila. You can do a shot of bad tequila, and swear it off for life, or have some really good stuff and become a fan.
Too much tequila or too much mama can both lead to triplets.
-
Headache, nausea, and vomitin', hey?

Would have to drink a hell of a lot for that, but probably would be in bed doing better things.

I'm thinking that with mama, triplets are far more likely.
"Made of tree bark, various herbs and alcohol, the concoction has been credited with curing ovarian and prostate disorders, influenza, digestive and circulation ailments and sexual impotency. In fact, it is so valued as an aphrodisiac by Dominicans that many call it 'liquid Viagra'".

Really? I had no clue that Viagra caused a woman's ovaries to spit out 3 eggs at once, or caused a zygote to split into three embryos.

In the side effects. Right after dizziness, vomiting, and 4-hour erections.

Hurd dis chit gives broads boners, hey?

Or two eggs with one of them splitting.....to be scientifically accurate on all permutations of how a woman on vacation in Punta Cana consuming Viagra or Mamajauana would become pregnant with three children.
-

I never understood why a 4-hour erection was considered a side effect. Anyone?

It makes it tough to roll over during 3 hours and 57 minutes of sleep.

To paraphrase Robin Williams "That isn't a side effect that's an effect"

Wouldn't that make it a kickstand then?

This thread is really going places and I feel part responsible :P

First, let me say that I am glad to have helped contribute to the start of such a wonderful tangent.
Second, thank you all for the well wishes. Wedding was great, surprisingly smooth. Punta Cana was fantastic as well.
Third, let me be clear, just in case any current or future employers wander on here....there is a big difference between marijuana and mamajuana. A whole 2 letters of difference! I only consumed the latter on this trip.
Finally, I have to say I was very disappointed when I tried mamajuana for the first time. They had it at the hotel and it was very pedestrian. Thought that Newsie and RC had led me astray. Then we went on a tour of the countryside and stopped in a village in the foothills. They told me that the mamajuana served at the hotel was swill and to give it another try. I had some of theirs...and then I bought some of it and had more of it later. That is the first time in a long time that I have gone to bed drunk and woken up still drunk. Now, I need to try that Sonoran Salsa they are always going on about.

You are going to need a minivan.

You are going to need a minivan.
Maybe several, probably got some of the staff pregnant just by walking passed them in the hall loaded on the juana.

Mamajuana 9 month watch
-
I should have known that while I never have interest in reading anything from Myron, I shouldn't pass up a Myron thread on Scoop.
Congrats TAMU!
-
I guess after all of my trips to Punta Cana, I have yet to see the attraction to Mamjuana. Never did anything for us. And yes I have tried many versions, including those in several villages.. But then again, I was practically born and raised on Croatian plum Brandy , Šlivovica... We even brewed our own... ;D 8-)
