Did you mean, is MU wasting their time or is MU there wasting time?  Just checking.....but let's hope it's neither.

For those who don't know, Grapevine, TX is where DFW is located, so Stan is in the Dallas area. That means he is likely there to see:

Tyrese Maxey (#13 in 247C)
Jalen Wilson (#28 in 247C)
Samuell Williamson (#106 in 247C)

The only one I have little hope for is Maxey. SMU just hired his coach or relative (can't remember) to some sort of position. Hard to compete with being coached by family.

This seems to be an irrational confidence issue.  Pulling a kid from the south you've known since 8th grade who committed to you at another school is one thing. Grabbing top 30 players from Texas is like pulling up from half court.  I know we want to be a "national" program, but winning regional battles seems to be a more sound long-term strategy. Stan obviously is making some inroads, but man these are long shots.

It's the Jalen strategy. If you want to get the regional stud Jalen in 2020, you've got to prove you can get the national stud Jaeln in 2019. Stan knows what he's doing.

There is A LOT about the current Marquette basketball program that you can question but one thing you should never do is question Stan Johnson.  The dude knows what he's doing.

This seems like an irrational statement given that we are very much involved with Jalen Wilson.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Stan is probably the closest assistant on the staff to becoming a head coach. Hope we can keep him for a while before he gets a good head coaching offer.

Big fan of Stan but I don't see that as a possibility in the near future.

Right on.  But, we need to turn it up a notch and sign the top kids like Al did.

Meaning its not a possibility that we keep him.  Or did you mean not a possibility that he gets a good head coaching offer?
