He is in Reggo nell'Emilia ... northern Italy a bit more than an hour south-east of Milan.

Excellent crap to see. Loved watching him play. Still pathetic the way some "fans" treated him latter half of his career. Did well for himself with the other half.

Most athletic and best on ball defending point guard in MU history. Misused as a "score first" PG for 3 years (he just wasn't a good shooter), but he was only following orders.

Question: I know DJ had an excellent freshman year and won BE freshman of the year. Anyone know where his draft stock was after that season? I know he entered the draft and pulled out, but I'm just curious as to how high of stock he had.

It was pretty high, I believe he was projected as a possibly mid to late first rounder.

Sounds about right.  I remember thinking if he wasn't guaranteed to be in the lottery, he shouldn't go, and he certainly wasn't.  Who knows what a few dissections from pre-draft workouts would have done to his draft stock though.  Could have killed him on the shot or elevated him on athleticism.

I thought he tested the waters after his sophomore year and was considered a second rounder so he came back. Can you put your name out there for the draft more than once?

If Dom James was a mid-1st rounder, meaning he was one of the top 15-20 guys in the draft .. he would have left.

I believe you can put in your name in the draft and withdraw one time.  If you put your name in a second time you cannot withdraw.

I wonder if he is going to get a "cramp" and sit out before the big "I do"... as he did in so many other crucial moments.

Looks like DJ is doing pretty well for himself. Living in Italy...playing pro ball...and engaged to a cutie.

If he doesn't go down his senior year, we had a legit title contending team. That was a crushing injury.

You're correct.

NBA allows a player to remove their name twice. The NCAA? Once before losing eligibility. Go figure.

"Early entry" player
Players who are not automatically eligible, but wish to be drafted, must declare their eligibility no later than 60 days before the draft.[13] After this date, "early entry" players may attend NBA pre-draft camps and individual team workouts to show off their skills and obtain feedback regarding their draft positions. Under the CBA, a player may withdraw his name from consideration from the draft at any time before the final declaration date, which is 10 days before the draft.[14] However, the NCAA adopted a rule that took effect in August 2009 that requires players at its member institutions to withdraw no later than April 15 to retain their college eligibility; the first draft affected by this rule was the 2010 draft.[15] A player who declares for the draft will lose his college eligibility, even if he is not drafted, if any of the following is true:

-The player signs with an agent.[16]
-The player has declared for and withdrawn from a previous draft. Although the NBA collective bargaining agreement allows a player to withdraw twice,[14] the NCAA only allows a player to enter the draft once without losing eligibility.[15]

If I couldn't make the NBA, I would go to Italy in a heartbeat.  My God.  What a consolation prize.

You've got some outdated information there, my man.
