"DeGioia is tight-lipped about the contours of the conference that’s taking shape, acknowledging that it likely will consist of 12 members though may expand to 10 initially. According to others close to the process, the three to five new members need not be Catholic schools. And though its boundaries may extend west of the Mississippi, some “geographical coherence” is expected."

READ: Creighton?
-
Meaning.... Creighton, yes. Gonzaga, probably not.
-
That's quite the wordy way to say something straightforward.
-
SLU is west of the Mighty Mississippi too.
What about Loras? No one has mentioned Loras!

Sure, but only if they drop their football program.
-
I'd bet money this is referring specifically to SLU

I don't think you use the phrase "west of the Mississippi" as a way to refer to a city founded on its shore.
Honestly, if Creighton were in Kansas City would everyone being having this hissy fit?
-
Speaking of the Billikens, SLU won at Butler tonight to sweep the season series, extend their winning streak to nine, and can be considered the heavy favorite to win the A-10.
-
I'm okay with SLU.
I'm okay with the majority of schools rumored except for Dayton.
-
Marquette is west of Lake Michigan.

Actually, you do if you're talking about SLU. Its a huge part of their brand. They advertise everywhere how they were the first university west of the Mississippi. That's why I think its referring specifically to them. While Creighton is west of the Mississippi, no one ever references that river when talking about them geographically.

Creighton plays in an arena that seats 15,000. They are competitive. Basically if the Brewers left Milwaukee it would be Omaha. Get over oneself. Both cities blow!
-
SLU is going nowhere once Majerus' players are gone. Biondi will make sure of it. Bad decision to include them.

"the three to five new members need not be Catholic schools.
Clear, unambiguous BYU reference. He didn't say non-denominational...

Are Milwaukee and Omaha considered cities or towns?
