I think it's safe to assume...
« on: March 27, 2014, 02:27:59 PM »
The Shaka ship has sailed...and MU is still standing on the pier.

This "search" could go on for a while. The result? Who the hell knows.

Just pick Wardle already and end the suspense—and let me end my association with MU.

You're going to blow an ACL jerking your knee around like that.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Knee jerk much?
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

But I reserve the right for calling you a bum for bailing on MU.

The "I'm done if so and so is hired" makes me so sick.

If you aren't down to support MU for life get out of here.

Probably, but the lack of a definitive answer from either party keeps the door slightly open. I take a little comfort in Cords' comment that the candidate pool is stronger than it has ever been. I am optimistic that we will get a quality coach at the end of this process.

BTW, can we stop talking about Wardle? It makes us look insecure and fitting of the amateur hour perception. Also, there may be a day in the future where Wardle would be a quality hire.

How much arm twisting does someone need to take a job? Maybe Shaka doesn't want the gig and it's time to move on.

Honestly I don't get the pessimism.  If SS said yes he would need some time to inform players/recruits, etc.  If it wasn't for Keefe's remark in the chatroom this presser would not dampen my optimism at all.

He said something along the lines of:

It's not going to be Shaka.  It will be Weber.  Which is still a good hire.

Because you believe:

1.  It will be Shaka  OR

2.  If it is not Shaka, it will be someone (Martin) other than Weber?

Can't imagine anyone would be enthused about Weber. Seems like a good guy and decent coach, but hasn't shown an ability to recruit. I suspect that hire would go over like a fart in church.

While we have admitted all along that Shaka was one day going to leave VCU, we nevertheless tried to tell you that there was no way he was coming to Marquette.  Instead of listening to our helpful and reasoned messages, you called us arrogant, cocky, and you made fun of our school and our fans.

So on behalf of Ram Nation, let me ask you one question: how does that Ram as* taste?

Go ahead and block me, mods. I'll never be back.

Neither do I.

However, I must say that I am growing fearful that we are being led on by Shaka--not by any malicious intent on his part--but perhaps we (MU) may be confusing his desire to maintain his relationship with Doc for interest in our program.  His buddy asked him a favor that he really doesn't want to do.  Just a thought.

In any case, I have been on the Howland bus since Friday, waiting to take off.  <sigh>

All grown men in this process and Shaka agreeing to meeting as a favor makes little or sense. If sources know it is meeting set up as a favor then so does MU. Zero reason for Shaka to spend one minute with anyone from MU if not seriously interested.

Trust me, he does not need to have meeting with MU to get a raise at VCU. If they met today or are meeting as we speak MU is in the game.

I'm judge and jury for nothing except my opinion.

I can't make you bail on MU or commit your loyalty to MU based on the coach.

I can have an opinion on how you choose to decide to support your school in the future.

I think it stinks.

Don't see how MU "messed up"

When you say "blind support" you are giving me the biggest compliment you can as a fan.
