Last shot...

Edit: After watching it again...I may have jumped the gun. It was close, and hard to tell...   :-[

Either way...bring on PITT. Go MU.

I don't think they get that call in Freedom Hall at the end of the game. It sucked, but I tend to believe the refs will look the other way unless its blatant/intentional.

Total crap on the non-call. Such a frustrating loss just because we were close despite the way we were shooting.

I agree. Foul all the way. But why did we give up so fast after that?

I don't mind losing .. But I do mind losing with a HORRIBLE no-call on the last shot.  That was freaking preposterous.

Just rewinded and watched it again two or three times... not as blatant as I thought, but the UL defender left his feet and landed on Wes, who did lean a little bit.  That's a call you have to make.

I just watched the replay.  There wasn't nearly as much contact as I thought there was.  Plus, the ref was not where he would have been able to see it anyway.  The contact was all due to Wes sticking his hip out

Are you kidding me?????  Take off the homer glasses.  That was not a foul.  THe Louisville player jumped past Matthews and Matthews blantantly leaned towards the Louisville player.  Not a foul.

I hat complaining about refs, but much like the other night, with about 4 min left MU had the team foul advantage 10-4. I haven't looked, but I believe it ended up 11-11

Agree, a foul 100%.

Agree we shouldn't have given up.

Finally, instead of trying to draw the foul, Wes should have just let the defender go by and take the uncontested three.

Oh, there was contact.  Wes wouldn't have had to lean for the UL defender to hit him, and leaning in actually hurt his case for the foul in my eyes.  He may have gotten the call if he went straight up and still got hit.

one of a couple of big plays down the stretch lazars moving screen sort of a chickin crap call at that point by the same ref, negated a 3 by rel to cut it to one.  Then the loserville rebound off the missed Ft was huge.

actually, that might have been the one time when Jerel might have thought of putting the ball up instead of kicking it out again. I thought he might have drawn a foul if he had continued to the basket. Whatever. We played hard throughout, especially on D.

but Georgetown gets the call at the Bradley Center last year when DJ fouled the Georgetown player.  Life is not fair.

I'm absolutely fine with refs swallowing the whistle on plays like that, regardless of when in the game it is.

At first I thought it was a clear cut foul.  Then I watched it a few times again.  The only contact would have been initiated by Wes as he kicked out his legs.  It was close though!

I said earlier in this thread that it was a foul, and it was in the sense that they usually call that one, but I really don't have a problem with the ref not calling it.  More importantly, it was unnecessary for Wes to try to draw that foul.  If he let the guy go by, he had an uncontested three.  I know we were down four, but how likely was a four point play there?

It was not a foul.  I watched it ten times.  The defender ran past him.  He initiated contact, but it was incidental @ best.  The shot almost went in too.  It was an oddly officiated game.  A lot of contact/very physical and then the "moving screen" call.

Pretty much sums up what I think about it...
