To those past and present including both of my kids at times through the years, bravo. Memories you'll never forget.

Substitute Crean for Wojo and Whiffleball for Foursquare and it's amazing how similar that reads to my days back in the 2002-06 timeframe.
More things change, the more they stay the same.

Ah.... brought back pleasant (?) memories of camping out for Bucks playoff tickets back in the '70s.

For sure.
That brought back some good memories. There are people I met in line 10 years ago that I'm still friends with to this day.

The funny thing is the "new rule" is like 3 years old now but it's still called the new rule.

1) It was better and more college when you're drunk.
2) love the shoutout to Nate and Azar
3) it was better when there were two games a year we'd camp out for (rip ND rivalry)

Disagree with number 1. Never saw the appeal of going to games drunk.

To each his own I suppose. My friends and I recalled recently that we couldn't think of a single game between 02-06, as well as the next 5 post-college years, ever being sober for a game. And they were frigging awesome experiences. (And only ONE of us wound up requiring AA in the final analysis). Marquette wins in more ways than we can measure.

Neither did I. A solid buzz? Sure. But I like to be fully aware for my game day experiences.

But you were in the band didn't that make it harder to be drunk?

This guy knows what I'm talking about.

Once in the late 80's, I had to go to Waukegan for work on the afternoon of a game. I thought, "What the hell, and just headed up there. I picked up a student section ticket outside the BC, and had a great time. I became an instant celebrity once it was realized that I was a student during the 1977 national title win. Later I remember playing touch football in my suit outside McCormick before retiring to The Gym for many nightcaps. About 5:30 I woke up on the coach in someone's apartment and headed outside to look for my car wondering how I was going to make it to work in downtown Chicago by 9:00.

03-07 was a huge blur for me and I don't regret a single minute of it. I analyze games moreso now but we always went balls to the wall before, during, and after games during my time. If that makes me a bad person/fan, so be it. But I was always behind the teams, never made an a$$ of myself, disrespected anyone, or anything like that. I guess I'm patting myself on the back for "thinking" I can handle my liquor. Or maybe I have a problem...I don't know..but I like your style.

Not my senior year!

You and the Piano Man were buddies, huh?

Solid effort Murs.

Thank God he snored or I might not have woken up early enough to just make work.
You really earned your handle of Dr. Blackheart with that one, dude!

Serious question: Why get there at 3am as opposed to say 5am if few people arrive until after that anyways?
Just the sport of it?
Love the passion. Love how much the students are into attending games. While we were very competitive when I was there in the mid-90s, it was nothing like the last decade.
Ring Out Ahoya. Go Marquette.

(Sigh) College....

The appeal is being drunk. Which is something that I probably won't be again until my kids are 21.
