The subject can be debated, but it should be debated in the Superbar, I agree!

How does a thread about recruiting at our rival schools in basketball (which actually will affect our team and conference) get moved to the superbar but threads like this are ok?  Who cares about controversies (or non-controversies) at UW-Madison extension??

Marquette has really done a laudable job with its diversity efforts, with around 25% of its enrollment being students of color.  That compares to Madison's 16%.  That's quite an accomplishment for a private university.  Milwaukee's is about 33%.

And MU matches the total US population. However, it’s 45% for college students today (as we discussed before). There is a long way to go to show how big the gap is. A Polar Bear Winter to go for Bucky, though.

2. Employers want students who have come from diverse situations.  So a diverse campus helps everyone.  Marquette is in a good place in this regard because of its strong pre-professional programs combined with its liberal arts requirement is also something employers seek.

Its pretty incredible that this story is coming from a national outlet like Yahoo news and not the Journal Sentinel or the Wisconsin State Journal.  Great job local media!

I never heard that term before.  What's 100% diversity?  Do you need an eskimo, a pygmy and an aborigine or do you need one of each sex and/or gender identity?

Employers want quality. The Diversity racket is trying to make everyone think otherwise.

I personally rejected diversity argument from the beginning and it served me very well.

I never wanted to be known as affirmative action or hear qualifiers before any achievement I had.

There are some parts of the comments in that article that I am understanding of. In particular the ones that expressed not being made felt welcome. I guess I had a thicker skin and just let those micro aggressions , as they are called today, slide past . Kids today need to be stronger.

My advice to youth today is ignore the diversity racket as it just keeps you down . Strive to be the best.

My personal idol is Ben Carson. Grew up in as bad of circumstance as possible and then became among the worlds best pediatric brain surgeons. So anything is possible if you do the work and focus on being the best.
