CHICAGO (June 2, 2016) – Chicago has provided the game of basketball with countless legendary players, coaches, teams and moments. From the playgrounds in Jackson Park to the hardwood at the famed Chicago Stadium and now the United Center, many legends of the game have called Chicago home.
To honor this heritage, the inaugural State Farm Chicago Legends will be held at the United Center on December 17, 2016. The debut event will have a decidedly local flavor with Illinois and Northwestern matching up against perennial NCAA tournament schools BYU and Dayton, respectively. Chicago is home to more than 230,000 alumni from the combined universities, creating a natural fan base for the first-time event. Game times and television information will be announced later this summer.

MU and ND instead of BYU and Dayton huh

I know we talked about this in another thread, but this event makes so much sense, and an MU/Illinois game in the next 5 years seems inevitable.
-
MU used to play in double headers like that back in Chicago Stadium. Typically included Illinois and Loyola.
-
Went to one of those double headers and saw a Soph Lew Alcindor play for UCLA.

Pretty cool. Would love to have seen Alcindor in college.
I saw one when Chones and Meminger were at MU, Paul Westphal was at USC, Nick Weatherspoon was at Illinois and Larue Martin was at Loyola. None at Alcindor's level, but pretty cool that all four teams had future NBA players.

Word.
I'd travel up from Charlotte for that one.
