Postgames notes: Jajuan Johnson injured in win over St. John's

Late in the first half against St. John's on Saturday, Marquette junior guard Jajuan Johnson cut to the rim looking to tie the game for the first time in nearly 10 minutes. Instead, his layup was off the mark as he contorted himself in traffic.

"the largest BMO Harris Bradley Center crowd of the campaign (13,468)"

Our Season ticket base used to be higher than that, right?

Some very good teams would die for attendance that high.

Still higher than a vast majority of other teams. Attendance is down across the ncaa

I dare say, but is this one of the reasons for the weak non-cons?

From a program economics perspective, a weak, low-cost buy game us still better than having to swallow a home and home against better mid majors

Short-term thinking.  You don't built interest in a program by playing teams that offer no meaningful competition.  Plus what is the economic cost if our record justified us getting into the NCAA but our RPI kills our chances because of the painfullty weak NC schedule.

  • I prefer a team that's eligible, not paid for

Agreed.  Hopefully, the youth of this year's team created an exception in scheduling the NC portion of the season, and this is not a scheduling trend going forward.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
