I remember just a few years ago when Dominic James or DJO would have a good start and score 16-18 by half.  There'd be a buzz in the crowd thinking they had a shot at 30+ on the night.

Appreciate what we're seeing from Markus on almost a nightly basis.  Makes scoring over 30 almost seem ordinary.

I don't think there was a single game of 30+ between Novak's 41 against UConn and Carlino going off for 38 in Orlando in 2014.
A lot of very good ballplayers went through the program over those 8 years.

Vander had a 30 point game and I seem to remember Jae and DJO hitting 29 more than a few times.

Very well said. although I think Vander had 30 against USF but not sure

I think a number of guys scored 30, but none more than 30.
Vander, Wesley, Jimmy, and Jerel a couple times.

MARKUS HAS SCORED MORE THAN 30 POINTS IN A SINGLE GAME 15 TIMES!

Yes.  Some others, too.

Jerel had 30 twice in the round of 32; Stanford and Missouri.   Wes had 30 against Tennessee.   Jimmy had 30 against Cincy.

MU lost all four games so maybe they're easily forgotten.

Markus. I wouldn't call his 36 points quiet, either. Even after everything he's done this season, he still hit several shots that made my jaw drop. Played 39 minutes, dominated every single one of them. Stud.

I really think that Morrow's play off the bench made him the SOTG.  He got some tough rebounds when DePaul was trying to make a run, some blocks, good D and some important putbacks.

Just kidding, Markus.

1) Markus (unreal)
2) Jamal ( very noce.minutes after some DNPs)
3) Fans (for a great "We are Marquette" chant to close it out).

I felt for the DePaul players. To be completely owned by the opposing fans on your home court must be so disheartening.

It is pathetic.  Other than the pep band, the cheerleaders and dance team, there were Maybe - maybe - 50 to 100 students there. I could only identify 35 in a “student section”.

It makes me appreciate our students and the professionalism of the way the athletic dept runs the in game entertainment etc.

DePaul is an embarrassment.

But how about some love for Ed ... 9 points, 4 board and 1 big block in 17 minutes.

I was at the game and I was sitting behind a very casual DePaul fan who was there with a group of law school alums.  He turned back to me at one point and asked, "Is number 0 your best player?"  To which I replied,"By far."  My point is, if a casual DePaul fan can figure it out, how can we get it wrong?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Jerel did it too I believe.

Maybe Wes, Jae and Lazar? Can’t remember for certain.

All Markus. He's coming for Crowder's record of 11 SOTGs in a single season.

Shout outs to Ed and Jamal for coming up big when their numbers were called.

Oh and Theo with 6 blocks in 16 minutes, ridiculous

One of the best shot blockers I've ever seen - his anticipation on the "help block" is phenomenal. If he can stay on the court 30 mpg, I think he could get into the rarefied air range of 4 bpg next season...

Part of me wonders if depaul were to  have a good season would their students even take notice? They've been so bad for so long their school demographics likely aren't the type of people who are going to go and cheer.

30pts 5 times from Novak to Carlino followed by Duane, then Henry, then Rowsey Markus and Sam do it repeatedly. We've gotten desensitized.
