When is the last time we signed a 5 star player. Was it Ellenson? The last one I'm sure of was Kerry Trotter, who was good, didn't turn out to be great

I wish I could set it to rank at time of commitment because Howard, and Joey were significantly higher before losing/giving up their senior years.

Ellenson. He was a McDonald's All American and 9th in RSCI.

Based on that trip down memory lane, it's hard not to doubt the ability of rankings to judge future performance

Paint touches or Cracked Sidewalks once did a study of accuracy of rankings indicating future success. If I recall top 30 is an extremely accurate indicator, top 50 (75?) was the next major drop then it was pretty much the same till after 150

Yeah, they are a general guide, but far from definitive. A few who caught my attention for performing well better than numbers would indicate:

Current: Sacar at 191, Theo at 204 and Greg at 224. I'd take any in a heartbeat over many of our past top 100 guys.

Recent past: Davante at 203 and JFB at 226. And although he was mainly a role player, I'd take a kid like David Cubillan (788!!) any day.
