I think he has been very deliberate and thoughtful in his process. The kid has a good head on his shoulder ( how many kids do you know that trademark their twitter handle lol) He started out with the top 13 reduced it to the top 6 and now it is down to the top 4. I expect Wojo and Company are sticking close to him and hopefully we can close the deal. I think it will come down to staying close to home , U Mass or the best alternative of going away to school which would be us.

Why do you always talk like you know these kids?

If you find something objectionable in the previous post your welcome and encouraged to share your opinion. Go through sentence by sentence and you will find nothing that says I know the kid .

Well that's too bad.

If some folks saw SLU as the leader it could also be seen as a positive.

True dat.  I think he just wants to go through the process and make a good decision.  I think he knows the MU opportunity is out there for the next few weeks if it takes that long.  No reason to rush it.

2018 6'10" Riley Battin of Oak Park, Calif., plans to visit MU on an unofficial this fall.

7. Who are some of the college coaches that have made an impression on you and your family?
RB: Standford, Colorado, Marquette, Notre Dame, Davison ( they are recruiting me the hardest), Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Utah

9. What schools have you visited ? Do you have any visits planned for the future?

RB:  I do not have any officials planned, but I do have some unofficials within the next few weeks to Marquette, Butler, Nortre Dame.  I went on unofficals to Gonzaga and San Diego state and I loved those schools

Oak Park is a small school that plays in a lower division HS league. Competition is pretty weak in their league.

Jaybee, whats the low down on Jarvis?

Last relevant player to come out of Orono was Jon Leuer - who (fan fact) I rode the bus with K-8. Good guy.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Race's D1 MN16 teammate 2018 Jarvis Thomas - I'm a believer

Theo John was banged up good. Ankle injury was bad, wrist hurt, busted lip, still played & competed. Still go back to the Faisal comp. well put together kid (nh).

WI United, DC Premier, NY Rens on deck

Jets Ramey 16s late afternoon

Jarvis played with Race for D1 MN's 16's. gotta go play bball myself right now, but... think switchable wing, moxie, attitude, strength, can leap... realky fun player to watch. He's very young for his grade; if outside shooting develops, then great things ahead for him. Findlay fallout....? Need better understanding on situation there

NBA 2K17?

Favorite quote (from memory) from Dwight Buycks on Twitter as he was about to play NB2KX... "bout to get rough on the sticks wit these young boys...no homo"

But no, real bball. I was on fire yesterday. Unconscious from deep (NBA range on most attempts). It was almost unrealistic, like I had codes. Haven't had a day like that in a loooong time

More random comments on Jarvis:
DoddsOnSports wrote:

he looks like a smaller version of Theo John...but his skill set complements him....not as big or as strong...but more athletic...but he seems to have John's toughness...

1] give us you scouting report on John...a huge get given that Tillman went to MSU and Eke, might be a yr away...but a great prospect...

2] on the same AAU team with Thompson ...were they interchangeable 3 and 4s?

Any similarities, Theo & Jarvis?:
Jarvis is tough like John, but when it comes to power/explosiveness/athleticism at the rim on offense, no comparison Thomas shines there. In some regards - both strong frames for their respective heights & how well they know how to use them - Thomas occasionally reminds me of Deonte Burton back in the day (don't get me wrong -- I LOVED MBD as a HS kid; Jarvis not at that level at this point)....mean, nasty, impressive attacking at the rim.

Jarvis might be like a Hasahn French -- undersized 4... but with Jarvis he's a guy I think that will be able to guard multiple positions & player types... and will have some nice highlight reel plays at & near the cup
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Lots of b-ball talent coming from Minny.  B-ball must be surpassing ice fishing as favorite winter sport up there.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
