Last night it was terrible..  I think it was the heavy fog/mist/whatever.  It is normally not like that.  I know most people on here don't seem to get good reception ever but I can get it all the way back to chicago with breif interuptions when passing power lines, etc.  By the time I pass Old Orchard mall it is fuzzy but definitly tolerable all the way to Irving and Western.

MU has never been on WTMJ. Before moving to 540 they were heard on WISN 1130 for many years.

It was bad for me going home (north) last nite as well.  Must have been the weather as 540 usually comes in clear on the way home from games.

It was horrible last night.  And I was in Milwaukee County, traveling from downtown, then west, then back to the east side, and there was no improvement regardless of where I was.

540 is great.  The signal is as power full and clear and often more so than WTMJ (at least heading south to Illinois and into Illinois).  WISN was ALLWAYS worthless at night for me.  540 I can get near Illinois, even at night (most of the time, at least, and better than WTMJ)).

540 is a hugh upgrade for the program, and it's affiliated with ESPN.  I like it a lot.  I don't miss WISN one bit (heck WISN would sometimes allow for a 5 minute post game, if that, if they were coming up to the top of an hour).

The best is to get Internet radio for the car.  You can put it on smart phones and play it through the cart system.

I second this. For my Android phone I use an app called TuneIn. Free and works awesome!

Yup. No problems on the internet stream.

Much preferred over MU's own live streaming video of games.

Couldn't agree more.  After 4:15 in the winter, WISN would (and still does) go to low power, which results in no signal west of Hwy. 83 along I94 (honest, as you approach 83 from west, it will gradually come in and east of it is OK.  It is like there is a signal filter that prevents it from going beyond that exit).  I get 540 where ever I go in the Milwaukee area.

I was driving back to WI from the east coast yesterday. Downloaded TuneIn and listened to the MU pregame, game and postgame on my phone. It was great. I highly recommend TuneIn to any Android user.

I have had problems with 540 espn as well. I live in Greenfield and either it comes in perfect or its terrible. No in between. When its terrible I just goto my local starbucks and stream it there. My apt wifi is too slow to stream.

WISN vs espn must be a regional thing in terms of quality of reception. When I listen to Panthers games on WISN that always comes in crystal clear for me.
