MU shooting 41%, 1 for 6 from three
VU shooting 39%, 5 for 17 from three

MU has 8 turnovers
VU has 4

MU is 6 for 10 from free throws with Taylor missing frontend.

DWil is 1 for 4 from field, all layups.

Jamil Wilson has not scored a basket since five minutes into the Georgetown game.  Not one basket.  Unreal.

Game:  Jamil t/o with dribble off foot.
           Jaun t/o with double team
Taylor t/o with front court violation
           DWil t/o with terrible pass
           Mayo t/o with terrible pass

Buzz Technical a dagger, MU had it to six.

Burton subbing in on the free throw line????

This with Bell and Archie playing only 4 minutes of the half.  Give Nova credit, with two stars out they still pounded MU.  Much better ballhandlers, much better.

He has 6 rebounds!  How dare you!!!!

We cant get the ball past half court, make a free throw or get it in the paint to Davante. .

The refs look bad, but that's an excuse at this point of the game.
Correct, including missed ft's we have 10 turnovers at half and countless missed pointblank shots.

It's not officiating that is costing us this game

Correct statement.  Although if you watch the I overhead shot the official is not watching Jake, but inexplicably watching the middle of the floor.  I need to back off my earlier statement, the ref blew the call and the compounded the issue with a quick T.  5 pt swing or greater assuming they took a possession away from MU.

It makes you wonder where this team would be at if Dawson would have received the bulk of the PG minutes from the start of the season. I don't think our record would be any worse, and it would certainly be paying off at this point in the season.

BS. Derrick could have easily got that ball. Otule also got out worked for the loose ball one the Nova player saved it. Jake Thomas tried to shoot a contested layup which was definitely a LOL moment. Just an all around dumpster fire for Buzz's homeboys.

Derricks play was smart, if he did save the ball he would have been stuck in the coffin corner with a defender on him.  The player that made the save was out of bounds by over a foot.  Jake's contested layup was a clear foul across the arm.

50/50 balls. Nova is out hustling  the Warriors. That's the game so far.

That's the most frustrating part of the season for me. Out hustled by the badgers, nova, creighton, etc. These teams all play harder than MU. It didn't used to be that way. If Jae Crowder was going for a 50/50 ball against another player, my money was on crowder. Teams used to respect that. This team wants to save all their hustle for practice it seems.

Not mad at Buzz. He should be pissed. The refs are inexcusable for not granting the time out

Miles might be among the cooler heads than mine that will say after the game that "refs don't dictate the outcome," "the refs didn't decide this one" and other kinds of code that totally takes the zebras out of the equation.  Like I said, they are cooler heads.

That end of half sequence ABSOLUTELY had an impact on this game.  Mark Jackson called it an "unfortunate break" for Marquette.  I'd say unfortunate break.  Down six with a timeout and the ball vs. down 11 to a top 10 team on their home court.

I got no beef or vendetta against Buzz--have never posted to threads questioning his coaching.  But to put the end of that half on him, rather than the "look at me" ref on the baseline, bullshirt.

Lack of hustle, too many turnovers, terrible rebounding, missing layups, poor defense, bone-headed T's....

There is no way an NCAA selection committee member would pass MU based on the "eye-test".

This team is a mess.

True, if the officials were decent we'd still be done by 2.  If we played decent we'd be up by 5.  If the officials were decent and we played decent we'd be up double digits.

Everything plays its part, but the officials performance so far is inexcusable.

What good is a rebound if you can't score when you get the ball?   Just curious

They were defensive rebounds.  They get you possessions...and opportunities for all five guys to score.  Derrick was not the only guy missing shots.

You certainly are curious.

Coffin corner? He would still be able to dribble. It was a dumb play. Jake was cleanly blocked. If excuses are like pretty boys then I'd hate to see what you look like.

Those two hustling defensive stalwarts that many rave about, Anderson and Mayo have allowed Hilliard to have a career game--18 in first half. Has mayo ever met a pump fake that he did not respond to by jumping 3 feet in the air as the guy then blows right by him? Just asking!

The frustrations of this season are getting to Buzz. His stubbornness on lineups has been a big reason for our failure to compete.

Seriously? The ref's are the ones losing this game for us? With better ref's we'd be ahead and everything would be good?

I don't think so.

Don't put the 11 pt deficit on the refs.

+1 you do not attempt to save the ball on opp basket specially if it is out on them, unless you know you have a clear fastbreak opportunity.

It's a good thing Jamil came back this year and get his degree...there is no chance he sniffs the NBA ever. I'm not sure he will even be able to land a contract overseas. Most overhyped player in a long time for Marquette.

That time out call was a potential seven point swing. Huge call.

Bad Jamil
Bad Buzz
Bad Refs
Bad Turnovers

Give Davante the rock, Jake needs to get hot, make free throws, and Mayo needs to step up in crunch time.

Not insurmountable but definitely tough.

LETS GOO!

Again, he has not scored a basket since five minutes into the Georgetown game.  It would be a miracle if MU wins without anything from him.
