Might as well continue the discussion we've had every game. Maybe its good luck?
Whats the outlook like you 750+ rich guys.
-
anyone else not seeing tickets in the 11:00 time slot?
-
Harder buy this time around. Very balky, showing no tickets available, and then allowing me to buy GA. I had no trouble getting seat backs for the first two games.
-
Just a reminder, if anyone gets tickets and can't use them, keep me in mind on the Trading Post, as I was first to post a request for tickets. Thanks.
-
same, tickets populated at 11:06 and only GA tickets available.
-
This makes no sense.
Dear Marquette: How are lowers gone already? After lowering the ticket max from 6 to 4?
-

Oooh boy. See suckers ain't gonna last til 3 then.

How many Trading Post seniority points do you have?

It looks like MU might have violated the 2018 NIT rules. All ticket are to be sold at the same time. If I'm not correct please clarify. See page 12.

Sure seems that way.

hmmmmm. Interesting, though the article is 7 years old and rules may have changed.

So .. this is indeed odd. If all the lowers were gone at 11am, that means the 750+ point account holders snapped up all of them between 9-11am.
Trouble is, there are only about 60 accounts that have 750+ points. That'd be 240 total tickets. There are about 1000 sideline seats at the Al Center. (this does NOT include the end zone student sections.)
.. So the 750 point people could have only purchased a third of what was available, yet .. they seem to have taken all of them.

Could they be holding seats for different time slots? Seems unlikely and dumb, but other explanations?
-
Wojo probably wants more students? More allocation for them possibly?
-
If they were all released simultaneously, they would probably all be bought by secondary sites and everyone would be paying way more.
-

It doesn't account for much, but I believe the section right behind the visitors bench is sold to the opposing school. Every seat behind the Oregon bench was either empty or had an Oregon fan in it.
-
I don't recall this much bitching about the Western Michigan game.
-
A friend was at 11. She got 4 seats in UPPER sect row like Q or R.

Except upper deck is general admission? Or is it the section with seatbacks?
-
Oooh boy. See suckers ain't gonna last til 3 then.
I was also sitting on the refresh button since 10:57
-

i had chairback reserve in 203 last two games.
-

Also I don't believe there's that many bleacher rows.
Nevermind. My counting skills are weak.

Pretty sure part of the uppers are reserved seats.
-
Maybe MU is penalizing all those idiots that couldn't wear Championship Blue yesterday in the seat backs.
-
People are already selling on StubHub for $150+.

Rows in the 200's start at Row M or N (continuing row numbering from below instead of resetting). So there definitely are rows Q and R.

Sect 213. With chair backs

First row of 200 level is L.
Sat in L yesterday, but had to move back to Q for tomorrow.
The process was slower this time and it took a few minutes for the seats to become available after 11:00am.
It does seem strange that my seats are worse when the maximum number of tickets was reduced.

If I could make it to the game, this little tidbit would have me calling the Penn State ticket office right now....

If I could go I'd be going through my dad's alumni association and flying the flag in enemy territory

The only thing I think Marquette should have done differently is raise the price after the Harvard game once they saw the demand.
Why turn down free money that scalpers are going to make?
-
any chance they gave a bunch of the tickets to the students?
-

I have no inside info, but that certainly seems plausible.
-
I'm going to guess demand rose with success. Probably not many high price donors care about playing Harvard, but once it's a Big 10 school with a trip to NYC on the line, they get interested.

So we're going to see more sweater vests? ;)

1pm report .. I was refreshing and .. the first time I selected the NIT game .. it said "no seats available, sorry."
.. I went through the menus again, and I could get 4 GA tickets.
Stubhub tells me they are worth $150 a pop. I think that's 600 beef n cheddars, although my maths is a little fuzzy.
-
Just bought 4 GA's (best available) in the 1pm window.
-
exact same thing happened to me.
got my tix, but not after a brief heart attack.
-
No issues getting 4 at 1pm.

750 with coupons...

Student tickets sold out as soon as they were issued. I logged on at 12:00 exactly and by the time my turn in the queue came up they were sold out. Confirmed by the Marquette ticket office

I wonder .. does the Lacrosse team get granted tickets? We don't want disorganized unwashed mass students.
-
I was able to get 4 at 1pm ET but it took a minute or two to show in the portal.
It was more nerve wracking then trying to get into a Disney marathon before it sells out.
-
1:30 PM
PSU GAME IS SOLD
OUT
Looks like I'll be watching from the couch. Incredible.
-
Welp looks like I'll also be watching from the couch. Sorry to those who I attempted to get tickets for
-

I think the LAX team has a guardian angel on the BOT. Strong suspicion that he purchases their seats.
-
Oh well. Guess I should have made an extra $300 donation along the line somewhere.
Then again, I'll probably need every bit of that for a trip to NYC.
-
If they lose the game, it's my fault since I can't go and didn't try to get tickets.

You know what people? The building is going to ROCK tomorrow. I'm especially happy for those kids that got tickets. They haven't had much to cheer about if they're Seniors. So if they get 'one shining moment' at a ugggeee home game in a raucous environment it's all good.

Agree but those seniors last NCAA game was...last year.

Agree, you could double, maybe even triple it and get them sold instantly.

Agree. I think it sucks that some super fans got shut out of the lottery as predicted. Monetizing these in some way (premium, an incentive tied to next season, etc) is a missed opportunity as stated.
MU is in a tough spot but the NIT tickets at The Al was a demand situation versus the supply situation seen at the BC. The grey market is at work already monetizing the tickets.
I also feel bad for the students. I would have even supported a student only crowd, but the Vesties would of had a melt down. After all, post-season is the promise of the STH contract/offer based on priority points.
I hope the Scoopers like 12, Benny and Brew are able to get some tickets.

I also got shut out. I went to an Atoms for Peace concert at Aragon 8 years ago. We were required to bring the credit card we bought the tickets with, to enter the show. Not sure with a smaller venue, MU can't do the same thing. Our "we are Marquette" cards are still valid and could be used as well that the tickets weren't scalped. Oh well.
-

Of course. But it was interesting for how Long? :)
-
Out of curiosity...
Did anyone here buy from the scalpers outside on Sunday? What were they asking? Thinking that might be the route I have to go tomorrow.
-

Like 34 minutes, actually. We were down 5 with 7 minutes left. And winning at halftime!
-
Chatted with Penn State Athletic Ticket Office, they said that the Host school (Marquette) handled all ticket sales, they did not get an allotment of tickets. Was considering a donation to Penn State to try and snag a few tickets, no such luck!

This (ID) is required for NCAA tickets as well (in person, at the game venue).

I bought a ticket this year at the SE corner of BC from the Big black dude—guy who is always there. Fake ticket. Never do it again. I’ll pay a little more on Stubhub for the $ insurance.

In Big Black Dude's defense (not sure if that's really his name... though it's probably not), someone probably sold him the fake ticket, and he doesn't necessarily have the resources to verify that it's genuine. That said, I'm guessing he's still liable for selling you a fake, but when's the last time someone took a scalper to court (and won, for that matter).
Nevertheless, caveat emptor.

What did the ticket look like? Completely official?

Printed ticket.

Yeah, except he knew it was fake when he waiting for me when I can back to him to get my $. So he knew the ticket was fake before he sold it. He gave me my $ and I’m sure he resold it again.

I am tempted to roll the dice on scalper tickets tomorrow night. I will post how much asking and what I paid, if I go.
For ‘Nova game I bought two tix, MU bench free throw line and about 20 rows up, for $140. The guy wanted $220. I believe I could have worked a tad harder and saved another $20-30, but was with my young nephews and wanted to get them into the game.
-
Yes--it happens every game with no problems I am sure.
My buddy bought 2 SEC Championship hard stock tickets for $800. Fake. Watched the game very sad at the bar.

April of '10? Was there too.
