Chipped a bone spur in his ankle I think is what Buzz just said on the post-game show.

Great... he's done for the season.  Had that in HS.

That's a good thing since he was more of a TO and fouling machine recently.

Good thing Junior can play.

I guess it depends where the chip is but I had to have surgery to get the chip removed.  Regardless, I doubt its comfortable and will probably limit his effectiveness.

does that mean  we dont want the 4 steals he had against pitt?  At one point against PITT, he was the only one pushing the ball to the basket rather than launching a bad 3.

I've got a bone spur in my right bog toe and it is painful - got a shot a couple of weeks ago - surgey will fix it and the only thing that will.  Hope he can still play - we need the bench.

I remember saying earlier in the year after Cadougan went down that we were one injury away from being in trouble at guard.  A bunch of posters said we would be fine and we had enough depth.  Well, now we need Cadougan just to spell the starters if Buycks can't be effective.

Where is that depth now that everyone was talking about?

Bet everyone is happy now that Cadougan did not redshirt.

This is tough for defense.  Cadougan does not look like a stopper out there yet.  Buycks was no Gary Payton, but he was a decent perimeter defender relative to what we have.  He also was a nice change up from Cubillan who can only shoot to a player who can also drive.  Hopefully he can heal up...

If Dwight is seriously injured, it's a major below...especially the way Cubes has been playing Buycks played well against Pitt. He sometimes seems to want to do a little too much on offense, but he doesn't make complete head scratching plays.

Yeah, I'm sure your injury is EXACTLY the same as his.  Obviously he must be done for the year since he played today.  Good call doctor...

Buycks has been inconsistent on O and D.
And sure...since it was STILL a loss, there might have been more playing time for Junior and Erik.

I think he needs to cut back on the 1-on-1.

Agreed.  At times it looked like we were running an NBA offense where we just spread the floor in isolation.  Not only was it ineffective but it was also boring as hell...

I don't care if it's boring as long as we win.

But ineffective? Yeah. That's the stuff that irritates me.

EASY PICKLE... Never said it was but if its even in the same ball park, dude's not gonna be able to do squat.  Its not an injury you just rest up and it goes away or if you run on it to loosen it up, you are good to go.  It will probably need surgery to fully recover.  But you are right.  I am not a doctor nor do I know what his exact injury is.  Good call.

I might be crucified for putting this out there...but, offensively, there are times when Byucks remind me of Jerel Mcneal as a frosh/early soph...theres times when he looks so out of control and then turns it over (scratch head and say "why!?")...and theres time when he looks out of control and hits a shot (scartch head and say "wow!") that i feel like kind of sparks him/team...

I'm not saying that Byucks is going to be a Jerel Mcneal type player...and obviously is not gifted with the same defensive mindset/anticipation that Jerel was (not saying he's a liability by any means)...but I think if he could harness some of his "out of control" offense, the same way Jerel did as a junior/senior, that he could become a pretty good scorer for MU in the near future...

thoughts?

I think if buycks took a jimmy butler approach to offense, he would be leaps and bounds better, and maybe he makes that change next year.  He is great midrange and taking it to the hoop.  He should only be shooting threes when he is wide open.  The problem is we only have one more year for him to figure it out.

I'm not happy, either. It's a wasted year.

Sorry dude, that was a d!ck move on my part.  I am in the medical field and I guess I get annoyed when people compare their injury to someone else's.  I didn't mean for it to come across as it did.  You may be right, it may need surgery.  I know nothing about it other than what was on this board so I won't jump to conclusions.  Depends more on where the spur is and whether it is within the joing.  If it is in the joint it will take surgery to have it removed but not a long recovery.  In fact, if it was done now, he could be back for (hopefully) post season.  Other times it just floats around and is otherwise asymptomatic.  Again, sorry for berating you...
