Title: From the It's Indiana...It's Indiana Board
Post by: warthogdriver on April 16, 2008, 03:56:47 PM
These guys are in for some major disappointment:

Lead us to a National Championship soon???  Not saying the first 3 years, but in 4-7 years???  I think so, but that is just my opinion.  I see banner number 6 being hung within the next 7 years, and will be a constant Sweet16 team, Big10 tourny, and Big10 champs team every year in a few years.  Maybe I am too optimistic, but I am just so excited about Coach Crean and what he will do!!!!!!  He is going to recruit better, have better teams, and bring IU back to where it should be while he is here!!!!!  So....do you guys think we will get a National Championship from 4-7 years from now??????

Let's just say I would love it if Indiana didn't win a game next season.  No offense.  I don't see Tom Crean doing a great job in the next 5 years.  I think they will make it to the tourney most of the time but not do well.

The only thing I see 4-7 years from now is Crean to MSU.

From what I gather, he's an Irish seaman and Antarctic explorer, and loves snuggling with sled dog puppies.

the big ten is crappy for basketball.  I think crean's style of play will do well there, he'll be running teams out of the gym in a few years.  The Indian fans have a right to be excited, they'll be perennial big ten contenders, predicting titles 4-7 years down the line is moronic though.  Who knows what will happen over the course of thee years.

Someone send boxes of Depends to the Hoosier fans.

I'm afraid they're going to poop and pee at the next TC sighting.

Go piss in the urinal at any bar on campus - you should see his picture hanging in there.  If you see his picture anywhere else in the bar you might as well leave - it isn't worth its salt.

Kansas fans did this with Roy Williams' picture when he bolted for UNC.  I say we follow their lead.

As for the delusional fan's statement.. I wouldn't be surprised that if Crean doesn't win a championship there in his first 4 years he's run out of town.  IU is expecting a LOT.  Hard to see him lasting much past 5 years there without a championship win.

If Tayshawn is afraid of a little competition, then I would rather he go somewhere else. Certainly can't stand up for himself, as he has to have his HS coach speak for him.

I am reminded of a recruiting situation at Miami, where Craig Erickson was the incoming freshman QB recruit, when Jeff George expressed his interest in coming there. Erickson said "well, he'll still have to beat me out." George opted to go to another school (purdue?) and Erickson went on to win the National Championship.
George, with all his talent, never really lived up to expections in college or the pros. Erickson had a nice little career in the pros, without nearly the talent.

No, Tayshwan, oif you are afraid of competition, Marquette is not the place for you. If you prefer to live on name recognition over hard work, well, there is a place for you "It's Indiana, it's Indiana."
