The failed intellional miss. Another idiotic display of basketball.

I thought it was a good idea, just poorly executed.

That was beyond stupid.  Would Carlino just audible to that or do we think it came from sideline. Hopefully question gets asked in post game press conference.

Yes but Luke is a center. Not the engine of your team/PG. He's reliant on others to get him ball.

But he needs to establish strong position and call for the ball.  He was playing a 6'7" guy today -  he should have been posting him all afternoon.

He has no strength.  When he bumps into a player it looks like he is running into a wall.  He cannot back anyone down.

Too easy to defend when there are just two go to scorers

its a horrible idea because 90% of the time the bozo doing it misses the rim.

It was the icing on an embarrassing collapse.

Thing that drives me nuts is that we go into hibernation mode at the end of these games and force a tough shot to beat the clock every possession.  We were pulling away and then we stopped playing offense.

Ah not one to dwell on imo. Game was over. It would have been idiotic not to foul there. Butler played smarter and was coached better. MU played well enough to win but the coaching lost it. 8 point lead at home and then they gave up for some reason.

Luke sets up too far outside. When in closer they doubled him

Missed layups, missed FTs, lost the rebounding battle.

The team is growing.  Great defensive squad, just not enough to close out games.  Defense is exhausting.

When it comes down to it the season at this point is about two things.  Growing as players.

Duane is still growing.  Cohen is looking solid, today JJJ looked like he was finally starting to get team ball..

And, showing the growth in the BE tournament.  I assure you no-one will want to play us on day 1.

Live by the Carlino and die by the Carlino. He is a ball hog.

And Fischer was schooled by Chrabacz. Finally, Wojo put Juan on him and he was schooled also.

Wojo has no clue at end of games. His strategy: Let Carlino throw up an egg with 3 guys on him.

On to next year.

You're right, Ners. This one's on Derrick. All he did was hold the other teams best player (who he was giving 6 inches to) to 1-12 shooting. Meanwhile Luke was overwhelmed by a guy 4 inches smaller than him.

Yep.  I suspect he spends a lot of time in the weight room over the summer.

I couldn't tell from the tv angle, but if everyone is standing with their hands on their hips, not ready to rebound, it's worth a shot.

So he makes that foul shot, we're down 1, we foul and now we have 2-3 seconds to go length of court and make a 3 to force another OT.  Going for the miss there is a defensible alternative.

If you are referring to Jones, Duane was on him for at least 8 minutes in first and second half, so don't start the eliteness on that Lenny.

Duane and he are both ball hogs. Given our roster they kind of have to be. How did Duane miss that breakaway lay up?

Pretty much agree on all points but sadly MU needs Carlino to be competitive. They would probably have 4 wins without. Although, the more you think about it would it really even matter?

I agree. Certainly no reason to call someone a "bozo," any way.

That's why our wait until the end of the shot clock offense at the end of games is a bad idea.  Tough to run an offense like that with only two scoring options.  One big guy can handle Luke, and Derrick and Juan are not threats.  Near impossible to get a good late look for Carlino or Duane when the defense knows that's what you have to do.

Pretty much it. I hope Duane, Sandy, Luke and Jajuannaman can put on some weight this off season, I hope Jajuan can start to fix his jumper, and I hope we can get solid contributions from Cheatham and Noskowiak right away. Gotta be ready to take full advantage of Henry from day 1. All I really care about at this point until the Big East tournament.
