Jimmy Butler
« on: March 20, 2009, 05:12:40 PM »
Was gone all day.. watched play-by-play on my phone.  Box score said that Jimmy took one shot and made it.  Didn't see his minutes, but why isn't he taking more shots, or getting more playing time, after the great games against Syracuse and Nova at the end of the year?

Tentative?  He only took one shot.  Was he lacking confidence, or just didn't get any looks?

For whatever reason he didn't get into the flow or get involved in the game today. That, and he was in foul trouble.

He did, however, perform an awesome hip check on Wilkinson.
Anyone have the video of that?

The opponent was playing zone, harder for him to get looks as he doesn't shoot from 3, his mid game is shut down.

His presence was enough.  Get starters some rest some rest, and take what he can give you.  I do think he can do a lot more than that, and he does, just had one of those games...

Yeah the hip check was great.  It took less than 10 minutes for me to hate that 26 year old buffoon

He didn't shoot more because he looked off his game in all aspects. And picked up a lot of quick fouls, and could never get in the flow.  They all need to lose the headbands, its screwing up their mojo.  That's lazar's thing.

He got at least tow over the back calls on offense rebounds, which hurt his game. He scored on a layup off a steal. I thought he was fouled on the layup, but they did not call it.

I'm thinking our problem today was a result of the "Samson Syndrome." (you know, from Samson and Delilah - the chick that cut off Samson's hair, rendering him weak and ineffectual against the Philistines until - until his hair grew back)  Think about it, 'Rel cuts off  everybody's hair on the team.  Result?  Almost a disastrous finish to this team's run.  We've got to hope and pray we get some mega hair growth before Sunday, or it's all over, baby, all over.
