read the book

Thanks for either refusing to answer the question or being unable to answer the question (or, more likely, both).

I'm gonna go with thousands of little boys raped by priests, with the Catholic Church covering it up for decades, being the most nefarious thing perpetrated by them in my lifetime until proven otherwise.

Thankfully, talented, hard-working journalists uncovered the scandal.

If Shaka retired today and handed the job to DeAndre Haynes, he would start with 12/13 scholarships filled for his first year and 9/13 filled for his second year. Would we be sitting here in 15 years talking about how Haynes was left with an empty cupboard for year two?

This article  states 41 minor and 12 women administrative detainees

The source they cite is from the organization that wrote the UN document I linked, which says 400 children and 215 women are being held. Not sure what else to say, besides maybe Al Jazeera wrote a bad article.

**It looks like Al Jazeera just grabbed numbers off a graphic on the website of their source, not their actual written documents to the UN. Looks like sloppy journalism.

Your article references 280 prisoners. Those are ones charged with crimes. It does not include women and children being held without any charges or without being accused of a crime. Those are held in Administrative detention.

80% of the individuals that Israel has agreed to consider releasing are those held in Administrative detention, without charge.

The UN says there are at least 615 women and children being held (400 of them children).

I don't think the real numbers are fully known, because aid groups have not been allowed access to these facilities. And I don't think any of those numbers include individuals taken by the IDF from Gaza.

Bill did a wonderful job as AD, overseeing a tremendous growth period for the athletic department as a whole. Olympic sports seemed to really improve with facilities and resources in the past ten years.  Among other things, he will likely most be remembered for hiring Shaka.

Hope he enjoys retirement.

Please tell the men's and women's track and cross country teams, as well as the men's and women's tennis teams how good Scholl was for Olympic sports when they have had their scholarships taken away and yet are still expected to compete at an NCAA division 1 and Big East level.  Also, the tennis courts are going down from 6 to 4 at Helfaer despite huge disagreements regarding that decision.  Lastly, the track teams, which have been around for 100 years and feature Olympians, world record holders, NCAA champions and many, many conference team and individual titles, still do not have an indoor track facility to practice on or host meets.  I was told in the early 80's that an indoor track would be coming soon!!  Over 40 years later and still nothing, although it has been talked about in recent years and a few times it actually looked like it was going to happen, but of course, it never did.

Wasn't a bad faith argument at all. When ones uses but, instead of AND, it is a defense.
Here's the Al Jazeera article: It's 280, not 210

It doesn't state what they are being held for. Again, my position is that an impartial third party organization (UN maybe) should look at those files

That book was all the rage about 20 years ago when people tried to blame liberals for the Church sex abuse scandal. But I think the last couple of decades show that the scandal was systemic in nature, and knew no traditional leanings.

Furthermore, the suggestion that there is no room for orthodox young men in the seminaries really doesn't jibe with what I have seen from younger priests.

everything isn't absolute but yes that was a big part of it.  the seminaries were a mess

Sorry, but when you suggest that anyone here is endorsing or supporting anything Hamas does, it's a bad faith argument. Some here are too dumb to know better. You don't strike me as one of them.

Somebody, please shoot Cardinal Manager Ollie Marmol!

Don't fire him! Shoot him!

OK, I'm only kidding but I am so disgusted at the St. Louis Cardinals that I'm on the verge of softening my hatred for the Chicago Cubs.

Case in point: Cardinal Catcher Wilson Contreras was told to crowd the plate as he was catching so the Cardinals could get more breaks on breaking balls from umpires. Contreras does as he is told and lo and behold, the hitter for the New York Mets clobbers his arm . Contreras is out for six weeks and had surgery to repair a broken arm. To add insult to injury, Contreras was charged with catcher's interference and the batter awarded first base.

That, coupled with the Cardinals hitting about .036 as a team and losing two of the three to the White Sox and on the verge of being swept by the ever loving New York Mets and its time to do something drastic. This season is probably lost but if the Cardinals don't do something soon, attendance at Busch Stadium will look like such baseball mad places as Oakland, Miami or Kansas City.

Bye Ollie -- go back to the A leagues where you might learn some baseball. Take Molizak with you! PLEASE!!!!!!
