5-0 Lock
4-1 Should be in
3-2 Should be out but theoretically possible with run in BET
2-3 need to win the BET

LOL there has been nothing over the last month that leads me to believe this team can win any specific game left on there schedule. The team plays zero defense and turns the ball over constantly.

The end has been here for awhile yet no one seems to ever get that. Fans continue to give Coach Wojo rope but nothing about him shows he is even a decent coach. Barely .500 over the last 4 seasons.

I still think we win:

Home against St. Johns
Home against Creighton
Away against Depaul

The season comes down to whether we can win one of either:
@Creighton
@Georgetown

Did you watch today's game and do you know who Creighton is? If so, I'm not sure how you could draw these types of conclusions.

Their vs. there

This team does NOT have an issue turning it over. That’s just false.

I think the issue is more about untimely unforced or just “lazy” TOs as opposed to volume thereof.  We’ve seen that against Butler, The Friars and today recently.

Unless they go 3-2 they aren't making the NIT either. They take conference winners and bubble teams left out of Tourney. I don't see this team going 3-2. Roster is way to thin. Heldt, Anim and Froling are largely useless. I'm sure they're nice kids but they shouldn't be Marquette players. I'm still holding out hope for Froling but Heldt and Anim are low major players.

If we go 3-2 we will likely end up in the first four or next four out. I would be shocked if we don't make the NIT.

If you want to argue that MU won't make the tournament because we can't win the games we need to I will buy that argument. I think 4-1 is doable but I think we fall just short, 3-2 and end up in the NIT.

But the argument that we can't make the tournament now is just wrong. 5-0 or 4-1 does it. 3-2 is even possible with a run in the BET (though still unlikely).

Thats what I had, NIT.  I had them 7-11 in BE play and hopefully it doesn't happen.  Need 4-1 for NCAA. But the team is in a serious rut right now and they probably beat Depaul and St. Johns, that may be it.  Wish them good luck.

They could still sneak in the tourney if they finish strong.  I'm mostly just disappointed the program hasn't taken the next step in the Wojo era at this point.

Making the tournament is not that hard these days, especially for major conference teams.  Just look at some of the teams- like Marquette- hovering around the Last 4 in.  Just a bunch of teams that aren't good.

When does this team/program get back to being a mainstay in the top 25 and compete for conference titles?  That's the measuring stick I'm looking for.

I was a big Wojo Backer until these last four games. We needed to
win. I think certain individuals have regressed.  I don't care if this
team is young. At this time into the season some players should
have stepped up by now. I was looking for big thing from Harry but
her is Charmin out there. I  was against Buzz, he looks like an ace
now. Need a veteran hard nose coach.

This.  At least 3 or 4 of our TOs today came when a guy lazily telegraphed a pass for an easy pick by a quick guard, leading to a breakaway.  At one point my wife asked why I kept screaming "lazy pass."

Making the Tournament should not be the goal, rather that should be a given. Now, win and advance should be the focus. This year's team is not Tourney worthy.

At this point we need to close the season out red hot. We need to run the table regular season and get to the Big East Tournament Final.  Today was not an embarassing loss. The Johnnies have been playing well and that small arena was very loud and a true road environment.

But we'll still finish 3rd in the Big East and get to the Sweet 16.

It seems so, so long ago when Vander Blue was talking about how making it to the Sweet 16 wasn't good enough. That the team needed to find a way to get past the sweet 16.

You're kidding right? this team has lost 5 of 6 and you're talking about making it to the BEAST finals?

This team also "needs" to not lose another game and win the national championship, but it's never going to happen.

I think we can beat Creighton at least once and maybe twice. They are good, but like Seton Hall Creighton is not a bad matchup for us.

MU won't beat Creighton after 7 days off!  7 days!  That's way too long.  Remember the last time they had time off they soiled the bed in Cinci.

This team is too young to win after 7 days off.  3 max.  No less than 1.

Before teams game I divided the season into three two game sets:
St John's away & home
Creighton away & home
@DePaul & @Georgetown

I figure to get a bid we needed to sweep one of these sets and split the two others along with a first round tournament win. Losing to St. John's hurts, but does not change this scenario. What hurts is that DePaul and Georgetown also won today. I figure the one silver lining would be if we lost to St. John's they would get out of the 10th spot. We are likely to finish 7th and that means we play the 10th place team in the first round of Big East tournament. Playing St. John's at Madison Square Garden is a game I do not want to see. St. John's plays @DePaul next and they will be tied with DePaul if they win this game. I think, if they finished tied with DePaul their win over Villanova will be the tie breaker. With Georgetown winning there is a possibility that we end up tied with Georgetown. It is too early to determine the tie breaker, if this happens.
