I'm wondering if anyone can recollect his best individual performance at Marquette?  Did he play exclusively inside?  Were there occasions he got angry and well....took out some guys?  Ty.

Beat Wisconsin at the buzzer, great pic of the father of the Hughes twins giving Al the finger!

In the pros he had a nice looking J  and could handle the ball.  I didn't realize how great a rebounder he was early in his career.  It's terribly sad he passed away too young.

Bill Walton named his son Luke after him. I had a chance to meet Walton a couple years ago at a conference. He said Lucas was one of his best teammates, and friend.

He loved the guy.  That's a pretty good 30 for 30.  Walton mentioned that Maurice would restore order quickly when one of his teammates got roughed up.  May he rest in peace.

Every time Lucas came in, I knew the win was well in hand. I'll never forget his double-double at DePaul (2 points/2 rebounds) this past year.

We're talking about Jonah, right?

It seemed there was a disagreement between McGuire and Lucas on Lucas going pro.

McGuire continually told him he wasn't ready.
Luke said all I do in this offense is play robot.  Screen on one side of the lane and move to the other side, and back.  Lucas claimed it took him two years in the pros to recover from that.

There's a long story in Tark's book about recruiting Lucas.   Basically, Tark showed him the Cali glam when Lucas was in on his visit.  Al took him to a restaurant in Pittsburgh, where they didn't even use plates to serve the food.  Tark couldn't believe he lost Lucas.

Lucas and Bob Lackey were 2 guys that no one wanted to mess with.  They had the look and backed it up.
