It doesn't appear the wind will be much of a factor.  Maybe someone goes low?  Rory may be ae to pull this off. I'm really just hoping for it to be a tight race on the back 9.

Rory was of a total disaster yesterday but made some crucial par saves to stay in the  tournament . If he can finish with a good round h should be right there .

I was very surprised none of the top 10 players had a sub 70 round.  And Scheffler's 5 hole stretch after he got to -6 was crazy.  His tee shot on the short par 3 derailed him for awhile.

US Open as it should be.

Tower, you would have birdied 9/10 times on 11 with your wedge game and ability to execute the knock down shot.  Scheffy doubled and lost focus.

Nope.   Nobody birdies anything 9 times out of 10.   With the rough and the bunkers and the elevation, 11 is like #7 at Pebble combined with #17 at TPC Sawgrass.  Sheffler hit a rough patch and is only a couple back.

US Open is all about avoiding doubles.   The home of the good bogey.

Overnight rain but chilly at Brookline.  Winds around 15mph.  Will play softer but the rough will be tough

I'm really just hoping for it to be a tight race on the back 9.
That's all I want for every major, so yes.

US Open is all about avoiding doubles.   The home of the good bogey.

Well said.

MU82, try chipping Fitzpatrick style.

I have enough problems. Then again, desperation is great inspiration for change.

There's a low round out there.  Scheffler with a birdie, birdie start.  -6 the winning score?

I get the scores are lower than most USOPEN's but I really like this course.  Lots of blind tee shots, difficult short holes, and not particularly long in general.  I think if the rough was a bit higher and maybe they watered the fairways more this would play significantly harder.  On some of these holes they're getting 40-50 yards rolls on the fairway. I could see Brookline being in the USOPEN rotation with a few tweaks.

Rory just cant get on a run unfortunately.

Every time he gets a little mo with a birdie he ruins it the next hole.

I don't see much of advantage going for the green on 5.  It's against the wind today and you really have to hit a near perfect 3 wood.

Just got another biridie though.

If he can stay bogey free for a while now, hes got a shot. Needs some consistency though.

I'm talking Rory. He bogey'd 5 and then got it back on 6.

Rory is playing very aggressive and that isn’t necessarily rewarded in The US Open.
So far his misses have results in bogeys , o feel he is bringing double into play though.

Ya....and Scheffy birdies 6.

We could have a two man race on the B9.

Scheffler is not going backwards and that will be hard to beat

Fitzpatrick looks very confident Herman.  He just hit a perfect tee shot on 5 and has an Eagle putt.
