Outside shooting
« on: November 25, 2008, 07:25:10 PM »
OK, Texas Southern plays a zone and for the first nine minutes, we have made zero outside shots.  Is it me or are they like 0-13, 14??  Against this team...

Maybe Buzz hasn't instilled his zone offense yet.  ;)

How about 17 minutes into the game?  They stand around on offense.  You have to make a defense move when it is playing a zone.  Very sloppy.  Careless with the ball.

Aside from the lack of outside shooting and the inability to break the zone, we have NO ONE who can play the interior!

MU started 0-5 on 3's. They made 6-7 after that.

Did any of our first three opponents play a zone while we were racking up 100 points per game?

It was tried for short time in one of the games I was at (I believe the home opener), but didn't last long.  If you want to sit in a zone when you're down double digits so be it.  That's just damage control in my opinion...

The outside shooting looked stellar in the 2nd half! Seemed like the Hillcrest connection couldn't miss for a good stretch of that 2nd half.
