In his defense, Lazar was wide open.

I bet on MU and won by half a point, although the last two minutes were really tense.

Frozena with a rebound, turnover, and a pass to Lazar on the bench.

I feel pretty bad for the guy.  It must suck having your name being cheered like crazy and then messing up twice having them laughing haha.  Oh well, I think the fans still love him, maybe more now.

Lazar looked like he was on the court - and it was a good pass :)

On TV, Lazar really did look open in the corner
« Reply #10 on: November 23, 2008, 06:03:26 PM »
Hey, Lazar was doing a great job of standing and cheering on the subs like he usually does, but from the TV view it really did look like he was wide open in the corner calling for the ball.  Frozen now has two rebounds so maybe he is the answer until Otule gets back!
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

Anyone remember the worst basketball play I've ever seen?  February 17, 2005 against #3 Louisville.  I believe we were up 11 with 5:30. Then this happened:

Quote
The Cardinals scored seven straight points, then Larry O'Bannon, who scored 15, was fouled by Chapman with 1:37 left. As he sank his first foul shot, Ryan Amoroso shoved Otis George to the floor, drawing a foul himself.

After O'Bannon sank his second shot, George stepped up and sank two of his own, tying it at 61.

Louisville went on to win 64-61 and we never did score again.

Damn you Amo!

I'm currently in SD and found this box score in today's Union-Tribune.

FYI:  San Diego State 80, Fresno State 56.  Amoroso -  23 min, FG-A 4-8, FT-A 2-2, R 0-3, A 1, F 1, Pts 11.  Wednesday SDSU travels north to the Great Alaska Shootout!

Well I'll be -- Ammo's at it again; he definitely had a few breakout games when he was there last time :)

6 and 13 points for Ammo so far in the Shootout.  Western Carolina, Seattle, and next up Hampton for the championship.  Talk about a stacked field!

But while we do the "former/almost former players" topic, it's too bad hindsight's 20/20 and we chose to admit Mbakwe and Christopherson and saved the lame excuse to not allow Damian Saunders to enroll when we were oversigned last year (or, if you'd prefer, we can all blame TC for that), because he's turned into a beast.  Saunders starts at the 5 and plays 4/5 for Duquesne.  Game highs of 22 and 10 against Duke today; averaging 17.8 and 7.4 on the season.
