As in gets drafted and makes an NBA roster. Any guesses folks? Future recruits can be taken into consideration as well.

If Trevor is what everyone says, I can see him being a Maxiell type in the NBA.   I can see JM going overseas and learning how to be PG for a couple of years and then catching on as a backup in the league.  He isn't anywhere close now, and I don't think he will make the leap as a PG at MU.   Taylor, Williams, and O'Tule, if they are what TC and Buzz think they are and develop according to plan.

seriously?? a guy you havent seen play? who i believe was a 3 star recruit? wow ok. how about DJ? even though many around here arent very fond, he woulda been a 2nd rounder and still prob will. how is he not the best shot? then you have jerel and lazar. ive read this before on here and i agree- lets wait til we see the kid play to make him an NBA player

It's most likely DJ.  Nobody on the current roster has more NBA potential.  If we end the year well, he will most likely have a big part in it which would raise his stock.  If we don't but he declares anyway, he will either go 2nd round or catch on as a free agent.    He may not make it, but if he doesn't then nobody else on the team would even be close.   McNeal is really the only other one that even has a realistic shot.

You don't need to have seen the kid play at MU to make this prediction. Your prediction can be based off of seeing someone play in high school along with what kind of measurables the kid has. For instance, my prediction would be believe it or not Tyshawn Taylor. The reason I say him is because the few times I've seen him play I can see his umlimited potential. He's got the right size/length to be able to play the PG in the NBA, and he already has NBA caliber athleticism and quickness. Plus, he has a great sense about the game. He seems to understand it so well and really makes others around him better. In other words, the kid just seems to have those certain measurables and the right make-up that you can't teach. If he played on a team where he was the "guy"(keep in mind he plays with 5 other DI recruits on his team) this kid would put up huge numbers and get even more attention. The kid had offers from both UNC and Kansas amongst many other quality schools which should tell you something.  My prediction is that after 3-4 years at MU he'll end up getting drafted and making an NBA roster.

I'd say Lazar too -- he has all the tools and has started to show real potential (23 pts vs USF, etc).

This would be an easy answer if he was 6'8" rather than 6'6", but I still have to believe he can get solid minutes and contribute in the NBA.

3 Star Recruit?  Ummm no.  The RSCI ranking which does a composite of all the Guru's rankings had him at #91.  Hoopscoop(89), Prepstars(71), Rob Harrington(86) and ESPN/Bob Gibbons(73) had him in the top 100.  Scout had him as a 4 Star recruit just outside of the top 100.

D James, gotta have faith, regardless what you think of him or his skills (although he still has the most skills on the team), he committed to play at Marquette, we have to support him, and I do feel like he could make the pros

If DJ doesn't leave and no one else goes pro, what are we going to do about the scholarship situation next year, as of now we have 4 players signed and 3 scholarships to give.  If no one leaves Crean better hope for one of the 4 to get caught w/ weed before the start of next year.

You do realize that by saying this you aren't just saying that you think taylor will make a roster you are also saying that you don't think DJ, JM, LH and TM will not?  You don't think a single one will grab a bench spot for a year?

DJ may end up in the show.   Perhaps not right away, though.   He can definitely play in Europe and work on his shot.   By the way, I said "if Trevor..."   If is a big word.    Lazar struggles to make the show because he is (listed at) 6'6".   "If" he were 6'9" with his skill set, he would probably get drafted.   Wes will struggle to get drafted because his outside shot, ballhandling, and footspeed are not suited to play the 2 at the next level.  There are no 6'5" 3's in the NBA anymore.   JM is a 6'3" shooting guard without a great shot.   How many of those play in the NBA?
"If" Trevor shows the same level of intensity and commitment to improving, he could be a Maxiell type.   "If"  Tyshaun and Nick are as good as advertised, "If" O'tule continues to progress the way he has over the last year.
I would love to see a lineup with JM at the point, Wes at the 2, Lazar at the 3, Fitz at the 4, and who cares? at the 5.    Just for a couple of minutes to see what happens.

I agree. DJ is the "most likely" future pro, but McNeal, with his exceptional defensive skills, has a chance. He's a bit of a "tweener," but he is a really solid ballplayer and there is room for him on an NBA roster as a "lock down" guy.

We'll never have another player from Marquette make the NBA.  Our team is 100% devoid of talent and has shown zero ability to improve.  Furthermore, our coaching staff has never and will never recruit blue chip players, mostly because every assistant on the team leaves every year.

The NBA is also boycotting players from Marquette because our nickname is the worst in the NCAA and we have the weakest home schedule.

And Tom Crean makes too much money, so he doesn't want players to head to the NBA and make more money than him.
A warrior is an empowered and compassionate protector of others.
