Jimmy Butler is the only former MU player to make the list this year, coming in at #11.
Thought this was a pretty good summary:
"If an opposing player is heating up, you can hand the assignment off to Butler, who does incredible work pressuring the ball while maintaining sound position. When the game gets tight in crunch time, you can rely on Butler's well-rounded game to turn up a decent look. When a player like Butler does so many things so well, you become reliant on his versatility. Then you just hope you can keep him satisfied."

JFB's journey is truly amazing.

Just my opinion but I think Crowder would be top 100 if he wasn't traded so often. He's had some stretches of great ball, easily top 100 in my eyes, but then he's off to the next team. I'm guessing he's got a cap friendly contract and a good enough player that teams ask for him in deals.

Crowder is that solid glue guy who can fit in a bunch of roles. That's why he's traded so much. Teams fill the gaps with him.

Good point. I doubt any fan was ever mad that their team traded for Crowder.

I am going to disagree. He isn't even a regular starter at this point, nor does he get major minutes. 30 teams x 5 starters = 150 players. He is somewhere in the 150-200 range for sure, currently.

I think you are right. But I did say I thought he could be if not for the constant trades. I know a Mavs fan and a Celtic fan; both were pissed when he was traded.

I personally think Jimmy is closer to 20 than he is to 10, but regardless he’s had a far better career than I ever would’ve imagined.
Jae could probably start for a number of teams if in the right situation. He’s also fairly cheep.

If not for The Blind Side, it would be a perfect movie candidate. If he wins a title at some point, it still may be.

Plus, due to his friendship with Marky Mark, he has the connections needed.
I agree about Crowder. He seemed to be doing so well in Boston. I didn’t realize he was now in Memphis.

As the all-time Crowder fan, I still agree with you completely. Reminded me of when a midmajor athletic director emailed to chide me because his point guard was clearly a top 50 player but www.valueaddbasketball.com ranked him as "just" top 300. Tried to explain there are 4000+ d1 players, and your math on 150 starters is the same point. Love Crowder and believe he is in that top 150.

Jae Crowder tweeted that he proposed and was shot down (tweet now deleted). Poor guy.

Those days are over. Can't even get admitted.

The days of midmajor point guards being top 150 college players are over?

Isn't there a Blind Side sequel in the works about Chris Otule?

Yes, but it's going to take 6 years to complete.

And half the time, Davante Gardner will take the place of Chris Otule in the movie.
