Head of Foley & Lardner. Will be able to raise a lot of money for the University.

This pleases me greatly.  Rothman is a friend and neighbor, and MU grad.  Solid choice.

Fun to have a Warrior leading the UW system.

I am encouraging him to show up in that Marquette blue/gold plaid jacket/pants/shoes combo on his first day.   

Anyone know where McIlvaine gets those pants?

The primary donor he will be dealing with is the State of Wisconsin.  They don't run fundraising operations out of the System office, but leave those to the campuses.

On paper yes , but in real life relationships transcend politics boundaries .
