8 seed v Dayton. Winner likely plays Louisville in second round.

Was really hoping they'd be up a couple seed lines, last I saw they were on the 6. Gonna be tough sledding getting past Louisville (assuming they beat Dayton).

This team played Tennessee and Notre Dame to overtime early in the season.  If they get past Dayton they can hang with Louisville...but 1 seeds in the Women’s tournament do not go down easy.

Take a look at what Louisville did to Notre Dame...

I don't follow women's basketball. Marquette and Depaul were co-Champions and played each other in the Tournament Final. Why such a gap in their seeding?

That's how the women's tournament works. The top-4 seeds all host the first weekend. Had MU done better they'd be playing these at the Al.

Marquette had zero good wins in their non-conference schedule - best win was over 128 RPI UWM.  DePaul had and RPI of 20 and had 4 top 50 RPI wins and 3 top 25 RPI wins with an SOS of 33.  Marquette had an RPI of 25 and an SOS of 40 and only had one top 25 RPI win (DePaul) and 4 top 50 RPI wins (all in a weak Big East).  And DePaul beat Marquette twice including the blowout in the BET final.  DePaul had much better non-conference wins also.  I think Marquette would have been a 7 seed if they hadn't gotten blown out in the BET final.

Well for what it's worth, they probably have the best draw of the 8 seeds, outside of playing Dayton in what should be a home game for them.

Thank you for the answer. Good luck to the Lady Warriors.
