‘Twas the Night Before Madness
« on: March 16, 2023, 08:12:15 AM »
Maybe already posted, just got this from my old MU roommate:

'Twas the Night Before Madness
(2023 Marquette Edition, by Peter Drozda)

'Twas the night before Madness and all through the land
Hoops fans were anxious, pen & paper in hand.

Inked-up brackets were pinned to the walls with great care,
Awaiting that first ball to be thrown in the air.

Marquette fans were nestled all snug in their beds, Dreams of a deep run, eternal glory in their heads.

Up late in the film room studying tape watching solo
Was Coach Smart, wearing Jordan's and a long tee under polo.

When all of the sudden he heard a loud clatter, And sprang from his desk to see what was the matter.

As he peeked in the gym he heard a roar like a dragon.
To his surprise he beheld a fully FIRED UP JOPWAGON!

And the rest of the team, too, drained every shot they did take.
They all thirsted to taste another championship milkshake.

But now practice is over and it's time to get rest, For Friday they embark on their ultimate quest.

NOW OSO, NOW KOLEK, NOW JONES 1 AND 2!
ON STEVIE & KIWI, ROSS & JOP, THE WHOLE CREW!

WE ARE Marquette and you bet all of MU Nation is juiced!
Ready for the Golden Eagles to reclaim their rightful perch atop the roost.

They've been doubted all year and overcome all the odds Yet talking heads are unsure, many still call them frauds.

But this group stays connected while they're ignored with dead silence.
"No finish line" is their motto; their creed: "Play with Violence.

So bring on the hate and the doubts, we won't duck them.
Instead, no one blinks, we just smile and say "F*ck 'em:
