Per their boards.  7 years, plus a house, and 2 cars.

There's going to be some big money flying around this off-season for some of these vaccancies, that's for sure.
The General has taken on a new command.

If I'm Bo Ryan...I'm hoping Tubby takes it so I can get access to MN players once again.

It must be tempting for a guy who grew up in Md and went to school in NC to take an ACC job for that kind of money.  Time will tell.

i always this time of year when all of these crazy contracts are being lobbed up.

you know some really rich VA alum was super bummed not being able to watch his team play (a lot) this past month. he probably has a Duke or NC buddy that give him crap about it too.

He has had enough, and now is gonna do something about it.

I love it.

Tubby Smith will be the death of the Wisconsin program unless he leaves.

With Minnesota's new football stadium, UW's football team may continue on their current free fall into obscurity

Wisconsin's football program has to worry more about their current coach than they do Minnesota's new stadium.  It's still worse than Camp Randall.

Wow,
I guess having one stellar year gets you a ton of money...17-16 this year?  Early exit in the NIT = $3.2 million/year,  REALLY?  Reading other posts from BMA it also seems that he hasn't landed any stellar recruits up in the NW either so how do you substantiate that hire?

Virginia is a fantastic school, with a great campus.

I love MU as well, but the fact that someone would pick Virginia over MU is not a surprise. Add to that the fact that this still keeps Bennett in contention for the UW job at some point makes it seem pretty logical to me.

Virginia:  Where coaching careers go to die.

Jeff Jones:  Working his way down the coaching ladder, currently at American
Pete Gillen:  Not coaching.
Dave Leitao:  Unemployed, with shot at succeeding Calhoun destroyed.
Tony Bennett:  To be named coach at UWGB beginning with the 2015 season.

It's an amazing campus, then again so is Miami (OH).  From a basketball perspective, it's been a struggle there for quite some time.  I just think he and others felt MU couldn't succeed long term in the BEAST, a comment that Wild and Cottingham made post-interview process about some of the candidates fears.

That would have made the Big 10 less athletic once again.

Not to steer the thread off topic, but MN's stadium hasn't opened yet, has it? How can it be worse already?

Smaller.  In college football, size and atmosphere mean everything.  CR is almost twice as big and has plenty of atmosphere.

I'll wait until it opens before saying "it's worse". Judging it now seems shortsighted.

Camp Randall is nice, I've been there.

Hard to evaluate the "atmosphere" of the new MN stadium when it's just a drawing on paper and some projected attendance numbers.

Anyways, back to the topic of Tubby at MN.

I'm not a recruiting expert (I leave that to BMA), but I think Tubby already has the 2 best players from MN signed.

Mike Bruesewitz is certainly a nice player, but Tubby got who he really wanted/needed with Royce White and Rodney Williams.

If Bo tries to make a living getting the 3rd or 4th best player out of MN each year, it's going to be tough going.

This will be an interesting next few years for the Badgers.

So based on this thread....

Bennett is 53% as good as Tubby.

Thanks 2002, that was my point...the really talented players are going to stay in state now.  Just because some guy is named all-state or Mr. Basketball doesn't mean he's the most talented player in that state. (See Christopherson, or Zeller at ND)
