Title: Who's all going to Eastbay/Converse Classic to see the Pipeline vs. King?
Post by: MrRivals150 on December 17, 2009, 12:09:56 AM
Pipeline as in Madison Memorial.

Madison Memorial vs. Rufus King  7:30  Sat.

Memorial is stacked.

Vander (#22 on Rivals) -MARQ Enough said.

Tre Creamer (Sr.)--Baylor??--not sure if there's anything official, but he's for sure playing college ball--be it a D1 or a small D1 school

Junior Lomomba (Soph) 6'4''-- currently has wrist injury, so questionable on playing--can't find the full list, but he's for sure Rivals top 100
-"I was told directly by someone close to the situation" that he has visited MU a few times already
-Baylor, Duke, Iowa, Iowa St., Kent, MARQ, Mem., WIS, and MINN, IOWA and IL have been pushing hard recently

Jamar Morris (Soph) 6'4''
--plays good minutes, seen him play this year twice, still a little passive with the ball, has good size though, "mini-Maymon"
-no listed offers I can find, but will eventually surface
-I heard Wisconsin is looking into him

Brandon Ortiz (FRESHMAN 5'11)
-This guy is a freshman and has started and come off the bench.  He handles the ball very smoothly for a freshman playing at such a high-pressure        program.  He is confident and can clearly shoot the three and slash the lane, along with dish come nice passes.  Clearly, it too early for any judgement.  But, just wait, we will be talking about him down the road.  Hopefully, he can grow a few inches.  Has that Vander swagger/cool about him.

And Rufus King does not have any high-profile names but is a sound TEAM and will continue to pound out D1-D3 talent consistently.

If only Junior Lomomba was healthy you'd be in for a treat.

I'll definitely be there. King is loaded this year as well.

Anyone know if they're eligible for the state tournament this year? Was that a 1 year thing?

1-year   "Kings quest…The Rufus King Generals are ready to play again deep into March after their one-year suspension from the WIAA post season for a slew of violations. Coach Jim Gosz is ready to prove the doubters wrong, again, and will rely on a cornucopia of guards if Gosz wants to bring home his fifth gold ball."

"Sophomore guards Nic Stokes, Dominique Borom, and Arroyo Edwards all can handle the ball and find teammates. Edwards is a 6-foot-4-inch player on the rise. In his first varsity high school game, he held one of the states most highly touted players, J.P. Tokoto, in check as King knocked off Menomenee Falls in their first game of the year."
--I've seen Stokes in some top WI rankings for 2012 class.

It's Milwaukee Hamilton that is loaded.  King is loaded with good talent.  Hamilton is loaded with D1 talent.

I plan on going. I'm really excited to see Vander. Do you have to buy tickets ahead of time or can you walk up to the door around 7?

What times are the games?

In D2 action, the Waupun vs. Port Washington game should be a dandy. Obviously with the Badger bound Gasser vs. Armga from Waupun who's quite the scorer. I believe both teams are top 3 in state.

If you had a clue, you would realize that what I have underlined is illegal, and you should not be posting it. If you are so connected as to have info like that, keep it to yourself.

Oritz is injured and will not be playing for a couple of weeks.

I'll be there! With the Warriors playing at 1, it'll be a nice double header.

Lets not make a mountain out of a mole hill. If Buzz is dumb enough to say that to a fan than it is public information for anyone to hear/know. Don't blame Mr Rivals 150, on passing along interesting info to the Marquette faithful. This is the kind of gossip every Marquette fan wants to know about.

Yes, but he could've just said he new from high sources that this person visited. I wouldn't believe him any more or less and it keeps the team out of trouble if true

It can be discussed in person, but to put in on a public forum is stupid. If he is as into recruiting as he claims he is, he would realize that putting something like that out there is dumb.

It is also a major recruiting violation. Just say that I have heard he has visited - don't be a dumbass.

I see two possiblities for Mr. Rivals:

1. You dont understand recruiting rules. And if didnt know...now you know...

or

2. You think you are an insider, and dropping Buzz's name makes you credible.

Either way...please edit your original post.

You are right, and I am sorry for the ill-wording.

I heard from some random people that Lomomba might have headed in the Marquette direction a few times and might have come across a team practice or two.

I will look over my original post, and I didn't really think recruiting rules applied to a forum where people have alias names.  And I didn't just pull what I said out of a hat, you can believe me or not, it's up to you.

It is not a matter of believing you.

Coaches are not allowed to comment on an unsigned player.

There are alot of conversations that can be had face to face, that should not be put out in public, even if it is a simple message board forum.

Thank you for making the edit.

Either way, but it's general admission.  So arrive early for a good seat.  You might have to catch a little of the game before to get a good seat.

If Brandon Ortiz is indeed out and Lomomba is still out, then this could be quite a show from Vander (30+ pts)
