State lost to Kansas, not Kentucky. But I do like the updates.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Interesting non-con note, Nebraska played both UTM & Omaha. They will also play Wisconsin twice, Creighton, MSU, and OSU. Had we played Rhode Island in Orlando that would have been a seventh common opponent. Anyone looking for a Big 10 team to cheer for this year could do worse than to cheer for Nebraska, who will probably have more impact on our RPI than any other team we don't play this year.

Still won't be a huge impact, but moreso than most random teams.

We play some real duds after the next two.  Poopy for SOS/RPI, but should be good for this team.

Nukem and I discussed this on another board, that there was a real chance for Marquette to lose against a buy opponent this year. I really felt we would have been better off had we played Alabama A&M, North Dakota, and Morgan State in November and played UTM, Omaha, and NJIT in December when we were at full-strength. Playing the cupcakes we did as early as we did only increased our chances of losing one of those games.

In terms of buy games, those three should be a cakewalk, especially with Luke back. Alabama A&M is awful. They lost almost 70% of the scoring from a team that ranked 341st in offensive efficiency. North Dakota lost 4 of 5 starters and the replacements have been outright bad. And Morgan State...well, they just kind of let the coach's son, Blake Bozeman, do his thing, which is usually shoot and miss way too many threes. He's having a career year, scoring 14 ppg on 13.3 shots per game and shooting below 40% from the field. The kid is downright awful, but Daddy Bozeman keeps running him out, and the Bears keep losing.

I think we want Nebraska to Lose against the teams we play , so their rpi goes up. And then of course win against everyone else

The B1G tourney bracket could sway things, but funny enough INDIANA is another team who has a lot of common opponents (compared to other teams we don't play) and they may wind up with the largest impact... 5 common B1G match-ups, plus Georgetown, Butler... add on to that their opponents' schedules and I think I4 may take the cake as a more influential non-opponent vs. Nebraska.

Northwestern.. 5 common B1G + Butler, GT.
Michigan another.. 5 common B1G + NJIT.

Anyway...Northwestern and Nebraska aren't very good. Ugh.

Didn't Nebraska start the year ranked? They beat FSU on the road tonight, though the Seminoles don't seem too good. Nebraska's one loss, to URI, is a pretty good A10 team.

Yep, they did start the year ranked and some nuts picked them to finish #2 in the Big Ten.

My assessment of them is different than many others.

Huskers were ~2.5 favorites at FSU. Nice little win though.

Alabama beats Arizona St

I hated that Michigan State lost to Notre Dame. The team that takes on ND is always my favorite college basketball team on any day MU doesn't play!

Just from the results, it would appear this isn't one of Arizona State's stronger teams. Here's hoping we avenge last year's disappointing loss.
