Title: Forfeiture
Post by: NCMUFan on November 05, 2020, 05:45:08 PM
Reading some posts, it appears teams have different policies in regards to letting the team or individuals practice regarding some members testing positive.
Some people seemed to feel that teams that allow the team to continue to practice will have an advantage versus others that postpone practice.

So the question is, will teams that have members that test positive for Covid forfeit their games?
To myself, it seems if some teams are risking spreading Covid to increase practice, why shouldn't they also risk forfeiture if their team tests positive for games?

Thoughts?

There have been 0 sports, college or pro, that have forced forfeits on a team that couldn’t play because of covid outbreaks. College basketball will not be the first to do it. Nor should they be. The fact of the matter is that teams are going to have covid cases. It’s just unavoidable, no matter how well you take the necessary precautions to avoid that happening.

The Russian Soccer League is.

But that’s about it because you can’t really prove where anyone gets it.

Some games will get cancelled.  Their will be no forfeit, or result from those games.  The NCAA merely has a minimum # played criteria - and that could be adjusted if need be.
