Someone get this kid a milkshake!
« on: March 22, 2007, 09:26:56 AM »
From crackedsidewalks:  "Tom Crean has offered a scholarship to 6-11, 190-pound Maurice Sutton of Largo High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. As a junior Sutton averaged 12 points, nine boards, and five blocks per game."

I'd love to have a 6-11 shot blocker come play for us, but 190? really?  He's only an inch shorter than Kinsella but 60 lbs lighter!

Anyone have any insights on to the likelyhood that he committs?

I'd take him...

Good looking Class of 2008 prospect. Like how he handles himself at the rim where he's got good hands. Is a presence defensively and overall strength will determine eventual collegiate level for him but we expect him to be recruited at the high-major level.

Sounds like just what we need.

His list looks to include school slike UConn, UK, Virginia, Maryland

Nick Fazekas wasn't exactly beefy as a high schooler - isn't very beefy now either - but we all seem to agree that he would have been a great get for us. Sutton can play and he'll get stronger.
