Jones up, Gardner down
« on: June 23, 2011, 09:29:42 AM »
In non-scandal, non-draft fluff news, I just dropped my son off at the MU Basketball camp. Gardner was in front welcoming the kids and he looked to be down in weight significantly, dare to say, he looked like similar to a Dwight Burke (he's at the camp too). My son said he saw him nail 10 "Fulce jumpers" in a row from the baseline. Sure would be sweet if he could evolve into the Dejaun Blair kind of weapon for us.

Jamail Jones was guiding traffic and he seemed to be up in weight from his rail-thin frame from last year. Almost looked like a different guy.

For those of you with younger ones, this camp is a great way for your kids to meet the players on a personal basis. Otule and Cadougan are the refs in my son's age bracket and he says they are "really cool." It's more of a fluff camp where they do more scrimmaging than drills, but it is certainly my son's favorite of the summer.

I had a "HUGE upside" once.  Now, I've got a HUGE backside.  So it goes.

Just went back for pick-up and watched the last 30 minutes. Someone was in a walking boot. I thought it looked like Wilson. The guy was a couple inches taller than Fulce. Cool to see Wes back there too.

Good to hear that Wilson looked a couple inches taller than Fulce.  Last year he looked as tall as Garnder in the team huddles.

I'm excited by the news.  His weight is the thing that was holding him back most.  If he can come into the year in shape, it will be a huge plus for the team.

His weight and stamina.  They sometimes go hand in hand, but not always.  I am hoping with this news that his stamina improves as well.  He really would get winded quickly.

For Jones, I assume you mean up in weight in a good way?

Yes, I thought Jones looked real thin last year. Yesterday, he looked noticeably bigger. Blue looked more filled out as well. They are all obviously hitting the weights.
